Zaydin pulls against Pyre at hearing that a "Lord Mage" is nearby. It is not so much the "mage" part that scares him, but Pyre only pulls harder, forcing him further into the crowd. Her pull catches him a little off guard, and his movement in regard is an odd stretch instead of a stumble. He gives a soft push to her upper jaw to lock eyes with her, getting her to stop for a moment as something is conveyed in the look alone. They continue forward, Pyre seeming pleased at the way the crowd parts for her.

She seems to be leading him to the front of the crowd, toward the site of the argument.

Eleneth flashes a smile at the guard, picks up her spear, and then continues on her way to the Elf she saw before her performance. She never got his name on the ship but she did feel comfortable near him.

When Eleneth gets to him, she lifts herself up to sit on the railing and leans the spear against her. She sits there in silence which he preferred and listens to everything going on around them.

She see's the crowd part ways for the wolf and it's owner.

Cerber looks the Knight in the eye, the kind tone rubs him the wrong way. He has decided to just eye ball the knight person before shrugging. "Well. That was productive." He turns around to look over what else is happening amongst the small crowd. He seems disinterested by the many merchants and semi upperclassmen. He quietly turns to look into town to see if there is anything worth investigating in that direction.

While Seven does not exactly mind the company of another elf, he does not like sitting or standing around for very long.
"Excuse me for a moment, miss." he adresses her politely with no word from his side spoken beforehand. He leaves her side and heads towards the noble woman who looks like she s in charge. Certainly she has her way of commanding people around. Snapping of fingers, how kind.
While her knight is busy trying to fend off the only orc in the group, Seven slips past him, heading for the woman directly.
"Good morning, Lady Naii." he adresses her, accompanied by a short nod. He clearly knows who she is, partly from his research way before arriving here. "What a curious incident to meet you here, your ladyship, greeting a simple boat full of travelers. What seems to be the holdup?"

@AardRinn

His cover blown, Atropos comes into view. "ah yes.. what is it woman?" he said in a voice that sounded like a crow talking.

He then took the hood down from his head and ruffled his feathers a bit, trying to make himself appear bigger than he really was (being noticeably smaller than everyone else).

@Roseyvaporeon

The woman seems to inspect you carefully, stern gaze tracing over your frame. Her voice is curt, but not angry, as she speaks to you.

"You are to remain with the group. No one is allowed to leave the docks until I've had a word -"

She's cut off by the appearance of a tall elf, who strides boldly up to her.

"Good morning, Lady Naii." It's plain that he has a good idea of whom she is - his tone is fairly respectful, at least, and she nods an acknowledgement back to him. "What a curious incident to meet you here, your ladyship, greeting a simple boat full of travelers. What seems to be the holdup?"

The Lady Naii seems distracted enough by the elf's boldness, turning away from you.

She asks him to identify himself, and after giving him the chance to, breaks into an explanation.

<continue to Forelle's part, below - you hear all of that explained to her.>

@Forelle

The Lady nods an acknowledgement as you greet her, eyebrow raising slightly as you speak to her about the ship.

"And you would be, traveler?"

She eyes you up and down, seeming to come to a decision.

"Although I suppose it makes little difference - my husband was going to address it with the passengers momentarily. It will do little enough harm to tell you... We have reason to believe that a powerful and potentially dangerous artifact was being smuggled aboard your ship without the captain's knowledge. Since we have yet to establish who brought it in, I'm afraid a close eye will be kept on all of you - I'm declaring a quarantine. Until it - or the person or people who brought it in - are found, none of you will be permitted to leave the city."

She pauses, seeming to dig up a little sympathy, and continues in a more conciliatory manner.

"I apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately, the safety of my city and her people must come first."

@sadiemariefrost

You turn away from the knight, getting a good look down the street - which is unusually empty. No one seems to be out at all, and almost all the houses are shuttered the whole way down.

You don't have much more chance to check it out, though - behind you, the knight is clearing his throat.

<con't below, under all three names>

@Mistwing608

You settle down beside him - but after a few minutes, the elf strides off to attend to some other business. You see him walk confidently towards the noblewoman, but before you can follow, the brightly-armored knight is clearing his throat, seeming ready to address the crowd.

<con't below, under all three names>

@f6e

As you make it to the front of the crowd, you see that the knight stands before you, seeming ready to make an announcement to the crowd. He's well between you and the noblewoman, now - and she seems to have taken up another discussion with an elf and some kind of... small humanoid? You have to think for a minute before recognizing the kenku from the boat.

<con't below, under all three names>

@f6e @Mistwing608 @sadiemariefrost

The knight clears his throat, and when he speaks, his voice is unnaturally loud and clear - you would be able to hear him, even over the chatter of the crowd, at the furthest edges of the group.

"Ah - hello, and may I offer my apologies to you all for the inconvenience this morning has brought with it!"

He smiles, and there's something reassuring about the open, gentle look in his eyes - the crowd seems to settle minutely.

"I am, of course, Lord Knight Liir of the Howe - it's a pleasure to meet you all - and I'm afraid I bear some unfortunate news. Last night, very late, my partner, Lord Mage Naii, detected traces of a powerful, unknown magic entering the city's waters. She and her mages of course attempted to divine the nature of that magic - and while they were unsuccessful, they did manage to trace it to an artifact of unknown nature, unwittingly carried aboard this ship."

He gestures to the Myrqab's Daughter behind you as concerned whispers break out again, only quieting when he resumes speaking.

"Then, early in the morning, all traces of that magic vanished, as if blocked from the sight of even our finest seers. Of course, this raised some very serious concerns about the intent of whomever might be bearing that artifact - of course, nothing to concern yourselves with overmuch. I assure you, the Mage Guard have things well in hand, and an investigation is already underway."

Another brief pause before he continues, seeming to gauge the atmosphere of the crowd.

"However, unfortunately, it's been decided that we need to make sure that the artifact's bearer doesn't leave the city - for that reason, you've been placed under quarantine - none of you are allowed to leave the Howe. Of course, accommodations will be made - you will be able to finish any business you have in the city - but your departure may be delayed. It is, of course, our goal to see the matter finished quickly, and hopefully we'll be able to have you all back about your business as soon as possible. Once again, I'm very sorry for the trouble!"

Seven barely has time to introduce with his name before the lady already continues. His attention is drawn to her husband afterwards who does his best to keep the crowd calm. He certainly is a strange man but not stranger than his wife. Waiting for the explanation to end he finally nods to Lady Naii.
"How will we be informed of the outcome of this investigation?" he inquires. While he does not have to rush he definitely does not appreciate unnecessary holdups.
"You will not keep us on the docks during this so surely there must be a way for you to tell who was a passenger of the ship." He does not like magical tags either.

Eleneth grips the railing tightly as she hears what the Knight has to say. When he's done with his little speech she is in no better of a mood and starts a little investigation of her own. She moves herself to the floor of the docks again and empties herself of all other senses while she casts Detect Magic.

Atropos coughed to clear his throat, "I... am Atropos.."

He then turned to the elven woman "I am but an honest theif mlady... not a stupid one... not sure what it is you think was aboard our ship, for i saw no such thing"

Atropos then made a cawing sound (one like crow). He seemed a bit annoyed that their crew and their boat held such a valuable item.

Pyre paused as the knight spoke. Zaydin tensed up at his words. He didn't like to be suspect of any crime. Despite his urge to slink back into the crowd, Pyre sat, his hand firmly in her jaw still. He stood awkwardly beside her, knowing that if he tried to tug she'd sit still there.

Zaydin waited for further explanation as to these "accommodations"; would they be free to roam the town, so long as they didn't leave? He didn't suppose he cared much for that idea. It'd mean some kind of protective detail; magical tracking or exits to the town surrounded by guards, all of them only allowed in a tavern and must be escorted by two guards to any location they wished to go to, and none of those options sounded fun. Then again, none of this sounded fun to Zaydin, but those options were especially un-fun.
