Welcome to the Trading Post

A center of operations for the dragon community as a whole. Dragons from all flights and clans mill about in any weather you could imagine. Stalls and small huts line the streets, some vendors new and some old. Some just for festivals. Buying wares and hoard must-haves!

Some areas of operation are said to be dangerous for the public's eye, most of those areas are blocked off or guarded by magic.

There seems to be a shady casino running through the area's tunnel system that is only accessible if you have come across an advertisement revealing the password (it's "sugar"). The owner is unknown, but this casino belongs to a dangerous clan who wont stand for cheating, meddling or stirring the water in any way. And if you owe them money? Don't even set claw in near the Trading Post lest they smell you out.

Rules

- You can have characters be terribly nasty to each other IN character. Out of character I hope you see fit towards being friendly with one another.

- There could be mild violence or death, nothing that would break or seem harmful towards the TOS, but if you are younger or have sensitivity towards death or fantasy violence please do not engage further.

- Play as many characters as you see fit, but only in one post and please specify characters somehow.

- Remember to talk Out of Character (OOC) when necessary, but this is a thread for roleplay.

- Follow by Flight Rising's TOS for roleplay.

- Try to take turns, find a pattern with your partners and roll with it. Try not to post twice or more in a row.

- There will be no limit to who can roleplay here, but remember to @ at those you are engaging with, not the whole forum- it gets very confusing otherwise.

- You may choose to use dragon images to help with your posts, I encourage this very much to help remind those of your character's presence among the crowd.

Two spiral dragons padded against the ground, their long bodies fixed to each other- glued to the side as they kept alert to their surroundings. Ears swiveled and all twelve wings trembling on edge with the tension left in the air after the scuffle over the last urn on display at the stall adjacent from them. The one with the heavy wizard hat down over her eyes let out a soft sigh, nails flexing as her pale, loose-fleshed body looped up on her hind legs, peering over the crowd around them. It was a particularly busy day that they had chose to go to the one place where they were both most likely to get into trouble. Dead Guppy- once known as Fire Guppy in her prime, was withered- hornless- exiled from her clan under the Fire Flight and taken in by a clan under the Water Flight. Guppy heavily landed back down on all fours, skin reaching to the ground slightly, even her ears seemed to pull towards hell. Nobody ever saw Guppy's eyes. Rumor said there was three all in a row. The one with the bloody bandages wrapped around her face, one-and-a-half-horned skull, neck, arms and tail arched with a pained grunt and butted the one known as Guppy. She seemed a bit more curious than her clanmate, but a lot more challenging as well. Looking at her was well and good enough reason to pin her as the bold type. She was a gambling dragon, and she was unwelcome in this place. What lived underfoot to the two Water Flight stowaways was a dirty secret that appeared one day back when Blood Money had still been with her clan under the Light Flight. There had been talk about a dragon starting up a casino with a few of their friends from other clans, and the crew she had been around during that time had been all about the money. She got in too deep, owed a lot. They took half a horn and hours of torture- she escaped with quick wit and took refuge among the Water Flight who took her in and patched her up in her time of need. Now she was back in a spot where every eye she felt on her was like a pinprick on her flesh, anyone could scope her out. Her ropey tongue slipped out and flicked the air anxiously. They were too close now, too close to turn back.

@puppydoe A crowd away from the two female Spirals was a dragon who was commonly seen in the area, well known as Tendon; unattractively named by his father the moment he saw his son's scale colors and pattern when he had hatched. He had the bright green eyes of his mother, a Guardian dedicated to the Wind flight. Tendon himself had left his parent's clan to join one of the Arcane flight, dedicating his youth to learning tricks and spells. It was just another day to him, slinking his way between other dragons and beasts of many kinds, his jewelry clinking gently as he moved. Glancing around through circular lenses, he came out from under the canopy of a small item stand, looking over the crowds as they passed by. The two in particular that caught his eye were very unfamiliar to him- Spirals, like himself, but definitely worse for wear in comparison. The one donned in blood-stained wraps concerned him, and the other seemed to sag towards the ground as if utterly drawn towards it against her will. He blinked slowly, taking note of their shared meek demeanor. Decidedly he approached them, passing by in front of them rather suddenly. "Would either of you require assistance?" He questioned, his voice young, but very smooth. The pearl earrings he wore caught the sun, glinting slightly.

Owsla ran through the crowd at the post, doing his hardest not to be trampled on. His tail had already been stepped on once and someone had somehow managed to sit on his wing. It took him biting them in the arse, something he never wanted to do again to get them to sit up enough for him to skedaddle. His father had asked him to go to the trading post to pick several things up for their clan. He would have gone himself, if not for his little... issue. None the less, the smaller then average fae took off, promising to be careful. He had a general gist where everything once since Coracias had explaned it, but for the love of the Starfather there was just too many feet blocking his way. He would have flown, but one dragon nearly ate him last time he tried that! Talk about horrendous! He paused in a somewhat less crowded area, looking around. His facial fins and wings drooped when he realized. He was utterly lost.

Freezing in place, Guppy addressed the smooth talking spiral who seemingly wound himself out from the woodwork, her tail stiff with apprehension. To the right of her was Blood Money hissing lowly through her teeth, golden hues taking on a dangerous look- but for Guppy, her eyes were hidden and intentions unknown to this dragon, she quivered for a moment and spoke softly. "I'm ssssorry we aren't interested in making any purchases today." her abnormally colored tongue swiped over her nose and vanished back behind her muzzle, turning her head up a little to get a better look at the male with such exposed colors. Blood Money had been on guard as soon as the richly adorned spiral known as Tendon spoke directly towards them. Sure they must have been quite the pair, a fat, droopy spiral and a scrawny bandaged and bloody one; but her jaws pressed together and creased her snout in a snarl, ears back- claws scraping the ground. Like a cat she twisted away from the confrontation and faced the opposite direction rather rudely, golden eyes softening to inspect the rest of the crowd. A few moments went by, one ear swinging back to listen to Guppy deter the male spiral- eyes searching a tiny fae who seemed to be more than his fair share of lost. She tipped her nose up and snuffled, slinking closer to the finned dragon; she had never been in such close proximity to a fae, they were odd little dragons, in a darling way. Blood Money seemed to calm down a bit as she worked her curiosities around the little creature, letting out a pained grunt as someone brushed her bandaged side in the dwindling crowd. Fighting the urge to whirl around and cause a scene (that was the last thing the two she-drakes needed) she continued to get closer towards and inspect the lost one. @huvely @ArcaneLibrarian

It was no use; they were too tightly wrapped around her limbs to even loosen by a bit. As Verdict raised her head up to continue her aimless stomping around, she noticed quite a few dragons that caught her eye. Three Spirals, one fat and droopy, the next scrawny and bloodstained, and the last definitely possessing a good sum of money. Well, they definitely weren't dragons she would normally converse with. But perhaps they did have some information on the casino she had heard rumors about; it seemed like an interesting place she would like to have a look at. Verdict started forward, only to accidentally bump her leg against something... Something fleshy. She swung her head down to growl at it, noticing on the way down that the fleshy thing appeared to have been the wing of an exceptionally small, blue-ish Fae. Owlsa let out a strange sounding screech when he was nearly ran over again, quickly hopping out of the way and swiveled his head 180 degrees around like an owl to see who had nearly stepped on him, his mouth open to speak when he was addressed, only to let out a strangled noise as he looked up at a gargantuan guardian who looked like they tolerated no bull. He shrunk in on himself, making himself as small as physically possible. Sunlight reflected off oh his bright scales and the gembond, leaving little light speckles to dance along the ground when he moved.

"o-o-oh geeze... please dont... dont.. I- I'm horribly sorry i w-was just trying to get my bearing for, for a quick moment. I'll move out of your way. Terribly sorry!" His voice was so quiet at the beginning that even he barely heard it. When his voice was loud enough to be heard however, it was gentle was a strange ting to it making him sound slightly feminine. He had been mistaken for a female more then once and it had been quite embarrassing for him as well as painful. The males who's eye he hadnt meant to catch would be overly ticked off and would claw at him for 'embarrassing them and their kind'. He hated it. He didnt notice the approaching spiral as he ducked low to the ground and tried to head to the outside of the post. Keyword on tried. Someone had sat on him. Again. His tiny claws furrowed the ground as he tried to pull himself out, letting out a keen of distress. He couldnt breathe!

It was really quite funny, she supposed, and also somewhat ironic in a way that she hadn't yet figured out completely. She watched as he ducked under a dragon's legs to get away and ran into a Spiral - one of the dragons she had seen earlier? She wasn't quite sure. It only took a few moments for him to somehow get underneath the dragon, and Verdict could clearly see that he was already slowly suffocating down there. The Guardian was going to hate herself for this. Her strange sense of justice and honor, however seemingly nonexistent they may have been, were telling her to stride up to the dragon crushing the Fae and swat them aside without any warning. And she did exactly that. Crouching down, she peered at the Fae with a sort of curiosity and poked the gems upon his wings. "You can get up now, you know." She figured that since she had already spoken, she might as well address the dragon that had begun crushing the small dragon. "And you," she said, getting up and swiveling around in a single fluid motion, "should watch where you place those fat honking claws of yours next time."
