TOPIC | [drawing] sunset's 3rd family reunion!
1 2 ... 10 11 12 13 14 ... 52 53
@perfectoranges Montoli is the first to respond to the nocturne, stepping forward and carefully, with the invite still speared on her nose. "That would be very helpful, sir! Deimos here's an inventor, and he wanted to bring some stuff to help him tinker over here. Dunno how much that will help him though... Ah.. He didn't exactly ask to set up here though, haha."

Deimos tentatively commented, "Last minute decision, on my part. It's by those, uh, caves, right? Montoli, we should get going."

Montoli sighed, gravitating toward the bags, and letting Chioni take the invite off her face. With the invite off her face, Montoli trades it for the bags of things Deimos brought. Hoisting them up with her wing-spines (and with a few critters losing their grip on the luggage), she turns to Deimos.

"It's your reunion, right? I'll take care of the stuff - You just get to your family." She says.

Deimos gulps, but Chioni, holding the invite with her horn, gives him a reassuring nuzzle. He stomachs his fear, trying to embrace it. Chioni may be no dragon, but her say was just as important. Deimos took a deep breath. "Ok" was the only words he could muster before turning and walking off, Chioni following close behind. She keeps an eye on Montoli as they leave her side, heading toward the event

Meanwhile, Montoli has other things on her mind. She returns her gaze to the unfamiliar Nocturne. "Sorry, I don't think I caught your name? Sorry about him, he's a bit of a workaholic and insisted he brought some objects to tinker with here. Ah.. sorry we kinda came here on short notice and it's been a bit of a rush, and I.. don't know anything about the etiquette surrounding bringing your work to a family reunion.. ah. It's all a mess, I'm afraid."

"Of course you have a lovely family, I would be surprised if they didn't contact you sooner or later. They'll love you." Twilight smiled at her friend, handing the worrisome Spiral a steaming mug of tea. She was running over the pros and cons of Tranquil going to the family reunion, she for one, thought it would be a good thing for him to experience, making new connections outside of the clan, learning about his family's apparently long and important legacy. "I think you should go Quill, you need a bit of a break. Meeting all those dragons... that would be an amazing once in a lifetime experience." Twilight called him affectionately by his nickname, sitting down on the squishy couch across from him. "I- I well..." Tranquil trailed off, dipping his long snout into the warm mug, taking a sip of the comforting liquid. "I don't want to go alone." He mumbled, looking away from Twilight, curling his long tail around his hindquarters. Twilight smiled, "It said you could bring a plus-one, correct?" Tranquil nodded, "I'd love to come with you, if you want to invite me." The Obelisk settled back into the couch, tilting her head questionably at her friend. Tranquil breathed a sigh of relief, he wasn't going alone. "Are you sure? I'd love you to come, but... if it would take you away from your work?" He questioned letting a bit of hope grow in his stomach. "I'm coming and that's that." Twilight finalized, setting her own mug on the glass table in between them. "You ungrateful worm you-" "Ahh." Said a voice unfamiliar to Ley, as a dragon emerged from the crowd of milling dragons. "Toadleg and..." he consulted his list. "You must be Ley." He said, with a gentle smile. "Mudpuppy!!" Yelled Toadleg, as she dashed beneath his legs for safety. Ley rolled her eyes. "Thank the Eleven, someone I recognise here!" The dragon chuckled and allowed Toadleg to clamber onto his back. The sudden nerves that had gripped Ley at the prospect of not knowing anyone in this great, great clan, had not escaped Mudpuppy. Mudpuppy's kind smile helped ease her worries - but only slightly. "Why don't you come and say hello to Sunset, and I'll show you around the stalls so that you can refamiliarise yourself with the others here?" Toadleg nodded, and Ley followed suit, her stomach still ill at ease. And so the two young dragons followed Mudpuppy to see the rest of the clan. @perfectoranges (no need to continue it, but just in case you wanted to :))

There really aren't a lot of rules at the reunion - he can work as much as he wants, but he ought to be prepared for dragons to come up and just start talking...like I did!" He chuckles to himself. "Listen, I'll drop off this cart, and then I can walk with you back to the reunion - we can find Deimos together, and I'll be happy to help him out with introductions! @nothingtown Once the little family has made a round through the vendors' stalls, the crowd on the beach has thinned just a tad - enough for Kilida to make out his mother and grandmother over Hemingway's head. He makes a beeline in that direction, and his partner and daughter follow.
"Kilida!" Delphina cries as soon as he breaks free from the crowd. "And, my goodness, you've brought a family of your own!" She stands and strides toward them to greet Hemingway and Sorcha properly. Sunset remains seated, smiling and giving a little wave before she's distracted by something Mudpuppy says. They'll wait until Kilida approaches to make their introductions. 11332648.png

@2Blue2BTrue "It's no problem! And, nice to meet you, I'm Taio!" Taio chirps, turning his eyes away from Deimos' back to meet Montoli's gaze. "I'll bet a shy guy like that is grateful to have friends like you and his Wolpertinger.

I know most everyone here, so..." He cuts himself off, gestures 'one second' with a claw, and darts into the forest.
78169668.png True to his word, Taio is back in a flash without the cart, and he and Montoli trot down the beach side-by-side. Taio suggests they drop off Deimos' belongings in one of the travelers' dens - "It'll be safe there, I promise, and that way you won't have to lug it around all day!" - before going to look for Deimos himself.

So many breeds! Wow... My family members. As he flapped his wings to get a better view, he saw where everyone originated from. Sunset! He tried to get to her, buuut, so many dragons were crowding around Sunset that if he tried to land, he might step on someone's head. I don't recognize anyone... he started to feel nervous. Uh-oh

Here goes nothing:

Abriana was busy with Roshanak, slowly coaxing bugs off an infested plant when they suddenly hear a loud CRACK!!. They both dart into the trees, wings fluttering and eyes gleaming, as they watch the nervous newcomer stumble in. The dragon was being closely scrutinized by the whole clan of aethers, all ready for a fight. Abriana, in particular, was quite upset that the bugs didn't inform her of this intruder.

The intruder, who carried a scroll and was clearly nervous, left the scroll on the forest floor and fled. Abriana spotted Sunset's and her name on it, so she crept toward the scroll and snatched it up. The rest of the aethers watched, wary and ready to swoop in if needed. She read the scroll two times, making sure that she read it correctly. She then smiled, and told the other aethers the good news.

This was her first time leaving the forest, but she was excited at the idea of reuniting with her family, and meeting Sunset, their famed ancestor at the gathering. She enters the reunion, carrying a bag full of bugs and food.
