I’ve always enjoyed when people make Christmas trees from unusual items. [center]Day 14: I crochet! I love to make gifts for the holidays, but also decorations. My favourite thing to make in December is snowflakes! [img]http://beautifulcrochetstuff.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/crochet-snowlake.jpg[/img] When my granny passed, my mom sent me a bunch of her old pattern books. I was able to make some snowflakes from them for Christmas the first year she was gone, and send them out to the whole family as a little hug from her <3

I'm a sucker for more traditional-style decorations, the kind you'd see in an old cozy cottage. Baubles made from wood, pinecones and other natural materials; fabrics and crocheted decorations; the occasional glass or ceramic piece too; those are my favourites. But for an image, here's a decoration I stumbled across just now, and it is the most adorable thing ever and I want one. [img]https://www.museumselection.co.uk/images/products/small/23357.jpg[/img] But I am also a huge fan of bringing your own interests into your decorations. Last year my sister bought me a cute ceramic dinosaur ornament because I'm really into palaeontology, and no matter what theme my parents go with this year, it is going on the tree no matter what.

I don't personally set up lights for Christmas but I [i]love[/i] driving around to see everyone else's. My particular favorite is the melting icicle kind, like these!
