Well, his skills were deemed unacceptable. This and that fact he’s willing to eat only granola bars for a month if that means he can spend an extra hour in the workshop. That's why he is sitting here, between Orna and Alastrina. The waiting was downright dull to him. But when sabotages became more frequent, tundra noticeably perked up. Young bard noticed that and smiled ominously. [columns][img]https://i.imgur.com/mqOS5xO.png[/img][nextcol] [b][Kessla, look!][/b] - she signed to him fervently, and jumped from her seat.[/columns] Under the mirror's wings he noticed bags - one, the smell of one he is glad is gone, full of seafood, and other two, noticeably lighter than the first one, filled to the brim with feathers and agates. Engineer quickly understood what she was about to do and watched her carefully so as not to give in further sabotages ahead of time. Well, that’s one way to enjoy Grocery Games. Alastrina was too busy looking at chefs work and actively taking notes on some techniques she found interesting. She is here for cooking part of the show, not like [i]some[/i] dragons!

The imperial has tucked a handful of display plumes behind her horn in lieu of flowers. She looks a bit frazzled, but is doing her best to not let it get to her. She places her gigantic plate in front of Geyser and smirks before launching into her signs for Mute. “Ah, well,” the little fae’s frills lift and fall before he shakes his head and begins speaking for her. Her dish appears to be a whole coral grouse - including an array of colorful feathers that likely were not originally from the bird. “What I have made for you today is an oven-fried grouse with crispy skin and feathers. There’s a mint sauce for dipping, and you’ll be pleased to find an array of stones that were used throughout as, erm, decoration. Many of them have been arranged in hearts.” There’s a brief series of gestures between the two before Mute chuckles and turns to Geyser. “And I recommend using the toothpicks you see in the glass beaker off to the side when you’re done to get out all the feathers.” [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/raf/2973530#post_2973530][img]https://i.imgur.com/NtzAZ6B.png[/img][/url] [color=darkred] Geyser chuckles in a deep baritone when Rhyo and Mute share their humor of the difficulties presented for the day, plucking up one of the feathers and sticking it behind his own horn, "My compliments to the chef!" he says jovially, before carefully plucking out pieces of meat from the grouse and dipping them in the provided sauce. After a few nods and faces of deliberation, he smiles and looks up. "I am quite proud of both of you for coming back to participate in our games! As always, Rhyo, your attention to presentation and portion are your strengths, and it is easy to forget that plumes aren't edible!" he laughs once more before looking to her more seriously. "It's a shame that so much sabotage came your way, but you have my kudos for embracing them and making them part of your dish. *Mint* was a strange flavor to take on, but it does hide some of those more erratic notes, although sadly, the stones have actually overcooked some of your bird with their heat! Still, it was a grand effort, and I hope you are proud of what you were able to accomplish today." Each portion had the color and shape of the animal they were crafted from; burnserpent, cobra, and skink, each cradled on crispy fried bat wings. "It is an honour to be here, Geyser, to present to you and all of Sornieth! I have prepared for you careful cuts of meat of the many offerings generously donated today. You'll find the burnserpent pickled in cucumber and dill, the cobra buttered and wrapped around a microdeer haunch, and the skink fillet dipped in rattlesnake venom and quinoa," he announced. "Our new contender isn't playing it safe, folks! I was admittedly curious how he would do under the pressure of the saboteur, but it seems he's just as wicked in wit!" He tentatively goes for the skink first - He was quite a bit larger than Chirch, but he knew how well these famed cobras could bite and take down their attackers at times. All the same he dove in, taking it all in one bite, nodding hesitantly before he chewed, and his face fell into a smile at the flavor. He was careful to taste the other two servings as well, although it was clear he enjoyed the skink the most. "Magnificent, truly, Chirch! I am happy to see a bright fire in you and in my kitchen! I feel like you may have taken on too much, however; if you could have focused your meal on the flavors of the skink, instead of an offering of smaller bites, I think you would have had a showstopper. I also see little to do in terms of the theme of the week! I envy your energy however and I hope that you will keep your vigor for the rest of the days to come!" Despite her rough start, the tundra seems to have pulled it all together rather neatly at the end. The dish she places on the obsidian slab in front of Geyser includes a flower-like display of plumes set in a glass beaker that is filled with different pieces of tumbled agate. Crispy elk ears are arranged in pairs to form hearts, and they’re fresh enough from the fryer that steam is still rolling off of them. “Good Morning, Chef. Thank you again for having me back.” She politely nods to him. “For my dish here today, I’ve tried to put a lot of thought into what a couple might most want to enjoy together. So, we have pickled and crispy elk ears in heart pairs to embrace the cool tang and the spicy sweet spectrum. For the main focus of the dish, there are bacon-wrapped elk skewers that have been pinned together as bite-sized hearts as well. It’s all presented on a bed of lettuce - and I quite like eating that once the meat is gone because it absorbs a lot of the flavor and extra juices. He clears his throat and, instead of commenting on her dish, simply begins to do his part to eat every described part of it, enjoying the flavors and the presentation both. His smile came out at the end and he stood, his wings extending out to gather the attention to himself once more. "My good friends and connoisseurs of flavor, it has been a bustling first day between supports and sabotages, bribes and mishaps! But it is clear that the first round of How We Love to Cook, the winning dish belongs to Flambé!" Again, the crowd roars and erupts with vigor to shake the very earth they stand on, wings beating pulsing wind about that makes the very air more romantic in the light.
