This will be running for another week after Saturday, so it's certainly not too late to join in ^^ XianaAsuka made a neat
summary of the evidence you guys have so far and left it clearly visible in the ballroom.

MyrrhDarkwing Yes I saw that earlier, but thanks for making sure.
I thought I read someone somewhere say the goop under the chandelier wasn't blood but the notes imply otherwise:
"-Analysis showed this to be a
living, biological ferrofluid. Based on its distribution it seems to have been
attached to the body or produced by it in the accident."
My next (day's) question might be "Was it a murder of crows?"

i think it's not too late to join! =D we have another week to solve this murder ^-^
the murder happened during the masquerade ball, where a chandelier fell down and killed (?) one dragon.
where the body is, well XD that's a good question *cough*

Xiana was so nice and collected all the important things we already found out!
Lenore isn't really helpful cause she refuses to answer ANY questions XD or at least the useful ones >.>
tho as far as it seems, the victim doesn't matter at all.
and trust me, i think we're ALL confused. a murder happened, nobody seems to have noticed anything useful, we don't even know HOW it happened yet.
that's the essence of a murder mysterie! =D and the fun behind it XD so get confused with us! <3
Edit: And nope, no blood XD
it's dark purple liquid, still fresh and wet. tho it might be some kind of blood from something like a mimic or whatever has dark purple liquid in their veines

The garden.. The garden! I've made a new discovery!! The door was never locked. NEVER locked! So who locked it? Or rather, WHAT locked?
I have a goal and fresh motivation. I need to find out what the clicking noise was. Someone did something behind us when we came in, and I want to know who that someone was. A new suspect, perhaps?
Rainstorm stretches his legs, straightens his back, and completes the routine with a flap of his wings. Unfortunately, they accidentally clip the candelabra by the newly open door. He winces, trying to ignore the ache from the impact.
This garden is beautiful. It's so curated and green, like the groundskeeper can just whisper to the plants and make them grow. It makes me wonder what I'm missing at home. What I've always missed.
What if I stayed here? Never went back to Murkmire, to the lair? I could have this forever. I could sit down on a bench and just... Be. I can feel the pull. It'd be so nice to listen to it.
Not while there's a murderer about, though.
He begins by making his way along the
wall of the house, searching for
hidden doors or locks . This could take some time.

Again, Daphnes' instinct betrays her; the hedge maze is noticeably absent of the scent of Alecinne's secret (and of his nervousness, as well). Instead, her nose leads towards a different scent--a turn in the hallway, which in turn breeds more hallways, more doors, more rooms full of books, chaise lounges, cupboards stocked with food, all surrounding carpets thick with dust. The manor is dense with all the trappings of living, without any signs of the living within; like a cicada shell left in the aftermath of a great change.
That is, save for the occasional footprints in the dust. Not always a sure sign that a living creature treads the area, though sure enough Daphnes does bump into a Bogsneak in the night.

A butler named Honeysuckle, it seems, with a lantern and very specific set of instructions given to him by an unknown individual. They exchange some words. Daphnes inquires after Honeysuckle's knowledge of the murder, and is imparted with a gift in answer.
The light from the Bogsneak's - Honeysuckle's - lantern fades as Daphnes re-enters the gloom, eagerly pursuing the unknown once again. The gift dangles from a red ribbon about their neck, its tarnished surface blackened even further in the absence of light. Daphnes tells themselves not to be impolite, that they must share this gift with the others...after trying it once, perhaps. They test it on a door at the end of the only descending stairway, only to find a note:
[Sorry, this is out of bounds!]
[We'd love to invite you in, but it's not part of the mystery!]
The fonts are just different enough to that they might be written by two different individuals--almost as if on purpose. A coy inside joke that doesn't quite involve Daphnes, but tickles her nonetheless.
A turn, and a turn, and a turn...and suddenly, they find themselves floating on a singular path again, leading towards what looks like the ballroom. It is mostly empty of guests by this point, with a few still milling by the entrance of the hallway. The light from the ballroom glints off a tarnished key hanging about Daphnes' neck, one that will only unlock things meant to be unlocked within the manor. A tantalizing breeze flows in from somewhere further down...

For Haunt and Daphne:
@DismasYves
Daphnes doesn't bump so much as brush lightly against Daphne in the middle of the hallway, their touch but a brief chill across the hide. "Pardon me," they hiss softly. "Ah, friend of a name that mirrors my own...and friend of a rather fetching hat. How goes the hunt for secrets? Find any need for a key within the manor?" They hum and project their recent experiences into the minds of those nearby, including any in the ballroom and lingering in the hallway.
They peer over Daphne's shoulder at the large scroll hung in the ballroom, Eye flaring crimson as it sharpens their sight. "Ah...a rather tidy list. Very Lovely indeed."

The door closes behind Aer as she says her goodbyes to Pandora and her children. If not for the murder, she would have loved to spend the day chatting with Pandora. Best head back to the ballroom and update everyone. With careful steps and the soft melody of her bells left in her wake, Aer begins her journey.
With the path alight with lanterns, Aer traces her way back to Isadora's room -and subsequently the ballroom- with little effort. She sees fewer dragons milling around the decadent room, idly noting how quiet it is now that Moth & Co. were gone. Most likely off conducting their own investigation. She makes her way over to Lovely, but didn't the Snapper have a companion with her? Perhaps he went off on his own. "Ah, Lovely, I finished talking with Pandora and I have much to share."
The Fae flips through her notes, listing off her findings. "I came in expecting to meet with Pandora, but two of her children, Marius and Victor, are with her. I briefly spoke with them, let me see..." She turns a page. "Marius and Victor claim to not have had much involvement with the masquerade, saying they were too young to help out, though they did join the costume contest. Apparently, their mother and sister did not want to burden them with anything. My conversation with Pandora took up most of the time so I wasn't able to talk with them further. It would in our best interest to get their side of the events."
"Now, Pandora loves talking about her children -it's quiet sweet, reminds me of this one time I-" Aer catches herself from rambling (again) and clears her throat. "Anyways, what I was going to say is Lenore would have gotten chandeliers no matter what. I unsure if she herself ordered them or one of her siblings that did. 'The triplets', Alistair, Damien, and the third who I didn't get a name, run a business and helped with sourcing and ordering decorations. All three of them are here today."
Aer looks up from her notes. "That's all I have right now."

Day 6
Bumble stopped, frowning. The thorns were picking at his delicate skin and hurting his hands whenever he tried to push them out of the way. Maybe there were tricks about? He rummaged on the side of the path and found a sturdy looking stick. He held it out, parallel to the ground, like a dowsing rod. Slowly, carefully, he started poking at the bushes and the side of the house.
If there were illusions and misleads in the house, why not outside of the house? Maybe he could find a secret path or doorway.
Worst case, if he couldn't find anything else, he could go back in and share what he'd learned with the others. For now, he was determined. There had to be something worthwhile out here!

Afflatus slowly reaches forward, broadcasting her movements as obviously as she could, and pets the little mimic. "You're so so spooky and so so cute," she coos at it, "and you did such a good job! I had no idea!" Afflatus boops it gently, careful not to scratch it. "Can we be friends?" she asks with a smile.
"Is there a way I can learn to talk to mimics?" she asks both the candelabra and Lenore.
--
Can I do a duo investigate for the conversation from yesterday to make friends and then also investigate and ask Lenore for help?
