Blight of the Devourer's

The Dusk Sanctum has always hosted a myriad of researchers, and some groups are much odder than others. And yet, it seems that disappearances have been happening, dragons spirited away in the middle of the night. Across the river, something has been growing, because after all, everything needs to eat.

Many researchers have grown content to hide their heads in the sand and ignore the dorms that grow cold and empty. Despite this, fear has started to spread, and few have started to try and find the source.

And thus began the creation of the team 627, or the STS. After seeing the movements and mass migrations of several native species, they have shifted their gaze to the Pox Consulate.

Rules

Note :
I am not active every single day, and often need to go back to write/draw/battle. Pings will be done when I finish that day.

Basic Rules:
- Any death in the Coliseum means a death in actuality. The dragon must be exalted or retired from the Pinkerlocke entirely.
- Begin with two or three adult dragons.

Drop table:

Food: The basics: enter the Coliseum! According to the table below, go through the amount of matches listed; it does not have to be all in a row!
Plants: 10-20 matches
Insects: 20-30 matches
Seafood: 30-40 matches
Meat: 40-50 matches

- All Coliseum teams must be chosen by a random number generator. The area entered must correspond to the highest level dragon in the group. You can quit any time to regen health, and fleeing is permitted. Can substitute (1) dragon of your choice.

Materials: A day for writing. While you can write for any portion of this, what are your dragons doing in their downtime? What's their latest battles, any hardships they might've faced, any newcomers to the group? If there's nothing new, how about some character introspection? Do any of them not have a biography?

Trinkets: Draw some art, whatever medium you want to use; even a simple doodle is good! What do your dragons look like? Their home? A battle? Any trinkets they have? What's their backstory before any of this, outside the Pinkerlocke?

Familiars: Buy the cheapest dragon in the AH of a specific breed, gems or treasure. Use a random number generator to determine which breed to get.
1. Fae
2. Guardian
3. Mirror
4. Pearlcatcher
5. Ridgeback
6. Tundra 7. Spiral

15. Obelisk
16. Gaoler
17. Banescale 18. Veilspun
19. Aberration
20. Undertide
21. Aether
22. Sandsurge

Apparel: Breed two of your dragons.

- Flip a coin for every hatchling. Every tails means a dead hatchling that must be exalted or removed from the Pinkerlocke. Minimum one can be overridden and chosen.

Battle Items: Chance for a death streak. Flip a coin; if heads, a death streak happens, and if tails, nothing happens.

- Death streak: Three dragons must be chosen through a random generator and go through a Coliseum area corresponding to the highest level in the party. 10 rounds must be completed consecutively; if a dragon dies, the death streak is over and no more rounds are required.

- Any apparel/skins gained in food coli runs must be used on a dragon

- All Dragons must have familiars

- Anything from Roundsey/Galore is counted in the Pinkerlocke

- All dragons get a randomized theme song that will inspire their story :>

He hated it. After dragons had started going missing, he hated being alone. He had never been one for logic, acting purely on instinct and whatever information he remembered, this was his weak area. He still remembered the first disappearance. He had never met him before, and all he knew was that he was small. Small, just like Arnalt. It smelled like formaldehyde, like someone dipped a corpse in vinegar and let it sit. The few glances he had seen at the once-botanist (He believed Pyron and him had been partners, but they had barely interacted with Arnalt, as lab animals didn't make good feeder-food for their plants) had shown him a bright, cheerful dragon. Nothing like the clawed room, and the musty remains that looked more like someone's thrown up dinner. It was never said out loud, but everyone had hunches on what it was. Some say his partner fed him to their subjects, to finish the project they had been working on for part of their departments funding. Others thought he had been kidnapped, or faked his own death. Yet, none of these theories were ever confirmed. Pyron stayed as the sole contributor for her sub team, and continued research on stranglers, and the like. Information and rumors about the Fae soon died out, and it returned to normal. For everyone, it was easier that way. There had always been disappearances, and while none were as... flashy, as his, it had to of been some fluke. Dragons are vicious by nature after all, was the general consensus. Yet, as Arnalt tended to a jackalope, he couldn't help but agree. It was sure to be nothing, and it would soon blow over, as it always had.

LOG. 001
88324175_350.png

It was just Arnalt in the shelter tonight. Any other dragons assigned as partners to this section of the kennel had all retired to the dorms, except for him.

It was quiet. Even the snuffling of hainu's had quieted, and it was still. Even the other times he had stayed behind after technical hours (he had a pass from the administrators, as some of the animals they researched were nocturnal, and needed to be fed at night), it had never been this quiet.

He hated it. After dragons had started going missing, he hated being alone. He had never been one for logic, acting purely on instinct and whatever information he remembered, this was his weak area.

He still remembered the first disappearance. He had never met him before, and all he knew was that he was small. Small, just like Arnalt. He remembered the screams, and how all they found was scraps, and chunks of cooling meat. Noone could tell what they were, and even the onsite doctors could only say that it was tampered with, whether alchemically or magically.

But, by the Eleven, did it smell.

Day 6. ----- [item=dumpling squid] ----- Autopsy report The body was still warm. Or at least, what was left of it. It was no suprise, is what they wanted to say, but it was. Despite her nature, Pyron was strong. She was powerful. She knew how to keep herself safe, and maybe not others, but definitely herself. But there was no avoiding it. Her body had been found mangled, after a report from the survey team had stated her as missing. Around the site, animal tracks and feathers had been found. Most glaring of all though, was the claw marks marring her sides. One of the wildlife specialists had confirmed the claw marks to be from a woodon. That in itself was odd, as the species was normally known to be passive, though not shy. The heavy migrations, that some of the teams had been researching, was believed to be the cause for their heightened aggression. Pyron's cremation was conducted hours after her autopsy was confirmed, and in accordance with Plague traditions, was discarded after the body was burned. With no next of kin, her familiars and possessions have been surrendered to the Dusk Sanctum Reasearch Facility's.

The body was still warm.
