“I don’t think this is a good idea,” Said the soft purple Nocturne, practically crawling on the ground. Sedona scoffed but didn’t reward him with an answer. He continued to follow the blue guardian, being careful not to trod on her cloak as they wandered further into the small acreage of land she had claimed as her own. “Sedona, this isn’t-”
“Please, Dionysus, I cannot fathom listening to your chatter much longer.” Sedona said with a firm tone. “What’s done is done. We cannot take it back now.”
The Nocturne, Dionysus, swallowed audibly. “I… don’t think I want to take it back, but I don’t think it’s a good idea. What are you getting out of this? Does he even know-”
Sedona’s long, thick tail slammed on the ground just inches before his hobbled claws, making the dragon yelp indignantly. She rounded on him, eyes scattered along her body meeting his own. “My father will learn of the things I’m doing here. He will hear it from our - my - offspring, as I send them to him.” She waved her tail, and took a few more steps before revealing the nest with two sprouting eggs inside. Dionysus once more swallowed audibly. “His lineage will spread, but not in the way he ever intended it to.” Sedona looked down fondly on the eggs, leaning her big head down to gently nudge one. “Grow, my little ones. Grow.”

Dionysus had remained at a peaceful distance while Sedona weaned her children. She cooed and nuzzled, fed them, and started feeding them scraps of meat a few days too soon to his natural instincts. Yet, once she allowed him into the cave to inspect them, she was every inch the proud, happy mother. "You did well," Dionysus murmured, tapping his claws on her hide.
Sedona scoffed. "Of course I did. They are... perfect," she said the last word softly, carefully almost, leaning her big head down to give the darker one a soft nudge on the tail. A squeak- and she launched herself at her sister. Sedona laughed, a gentle rumble that Dionysus wasn't sure he'd hear again. "Perfect," the big Guardian sighed, before setting her gazes out to the mouth of the cave. Her new suitor would be arriving soon, and Dionysus would have to leave.
She would miss him, but this would be for the betterment of herself, and of course- would all lead to finally showing her father that she had always been the perfect heir.

just a quick update for those who want to know whats going on:
- the girls are being levelled up today! they're currently on the AH for 10g but if no one buys them by Sunday, they'll be exalted.
- Sedona's cooldown ends in four days, and I already have a second mate lined up! I'm happy to keep this challenge chugging along.

The bright yellow Obelisk had arrived just a few days after Sedona’s first clutch grew up and pledged allegiance to the Gladekeeper.
Heartbroken by her daughters’ choices - but understanding of it all - Sedona was calculatingly cruel to Zonec whenever he tried to make himself more familiar with her. Of course, eventually, with just how charming the yellow dragon could be and how sad and truly lonely Sedona felt, it didn’t take long for the two of them to fall into a gentle understanding of each other. Zonec understood what she was trying to do, and Sedona… well, she wasn’t happy with what she knew she had to do, but the burning urge to prove herself to her father continued to feed her personal spite machine.
Zonec nudged one of the eggs, earning himself a dangerous growl from his temporary mate. “Ease up, luv.” Zonec hushed the Guardian, cracking a wide grin. “They’re mine as much as they’re yours.”
“You have no claim over my nest.” Sedona reminded him coldly, but didn’t growl when he nudged a second egg.
“We’ll see what the little buggers look like once they hatch, hm?”

“That’s not how I envisioned my first clutch,” Zonec complained, chin on his paws as Sedona nursed her triplets. One wing covered them from the shining sun- storms had nagged them throughout the incubation period, and Zonec had been a doting nesting partner and taken care of each and every one of Sedona’s needs. She leaned her big head down and tapped the only boy of the clutch gently. They were all so different, the three of them squeaking little monsters that Sedona couldn’t imagine living her life without. Her heart sang for her daughters who had already ascended, missing them but empathetic to their own Charges. “Sedona, can we try again?” The Obelisk whined, stamping his foot.
Zonec’s question made her see red. “If you don’t leave my lands immediately, I will make sure you never take flight again.”
She was grateful when he didn’t show up for dinner that night.

Raising three little nestlings alone had tired Sedona out much more than she had anticipated.
Of course, she had been wrong in their hatchling and learned with a start that she infact had two boys, and a single girl. Five hatchlings already, and each one of them more different than the last. Keeping them fed, warm and from killing each other proved to be the only thing Sedona needed to do. They in turn kept her fed, kept her warm, and of course, held her back when one of them got a little too sassy for their own good. But again, the time came where Sedona watched a son and another daughter pledge themselves to the Gladeskeeper. Her other son bumped his hip against hers. “C’mon, Mom.” He was protective and stubborn, two traits that carried down from his mother in pure straits. Sedona loved him tremendously for it.
Which, also made sense as to his overbearing need to protect her when a third mate was walloped in front of her. Sedona approached the newcomer, purple toned with leaf green scales struggle to come to. Her son snarled over him, only a few feet taller. “Easy, let him come back,” Sedona told her son, who listened without complaint but without praise, either. He was understanding of what his mother was doing: she had spent nights huddled up to him, speaking of his grandsire with a loathing under her tongue he could never try and soothe. He understood what she was doing, but his jealousy wasn’t easily squashed.
It was harder to be happy when her son patrolled the land she claimed in a bad mood. Gently touching the two eggs in her nest, Sedona had all but begged her latest suitor to leave in the dead of night. “I will send them to you,” she lied to him, speaking of their eggs. “I will make sure they know who you are.” When his spot in the lean-to was cold the following morning, Sedona was only a little heartbroken.
This was already becoming much harder than it had to be.

"Another brother?" He snarled, huffing at the tiny Guardians.
Sedona chuckled, tired from the day of chasing her eldest son around while waiting for the eggs to hatch. "Yes, another one. There will be more, and you will simply have to live with it. Not all of them will stay with us, we simply don't have enough room." She paused, letting the little ones squeak and spread their wings at their big bulking brother. "But should the day come that we need room, I know I can trust you to find it however you see fit."
The message was heard loud and clear.

7/100 and I accidentally bought the same breed for Sedona but it's fine... I'm sure it's just fine. Debating on keeping the male of the clutch! For a storyline it makes sense, but this isn't really all that story-driven... right? ^^; Anyways! Thanks for reading!

It was the female that remained this time.
Sedona watched her son take heed of the promise she had made to his father and leave, while her remaining children began the arduous task of growing their small territory. It was during one of these territory expansions that they found the dark colored Tundra. Injured in another fight, they brought him home to their mother. Of course, it was an easy way for her to collect what she needed, her spite never too far from the surface at all times. When the Tundra agreed, feeling like he had nothing of his own legacy, Sedona found herself feeling sorry for the Dragon. Of course, that feeling didn’t last too long: he was an awful hunter, and she watched with some amusement as her remaining children groused about feeding him as he played his injury up. He wouldn’t be around for too much longer, she soothed them. Once he was feeling better, he would be escorted from their territory.
The Tundra remained until the eggs were trembling, crooning at them from his spot under the lean-to. Sedona paced irritably. She didn’t like it when her ‘mates’ remained for the hatching. A small part of her didn’t want them to take her children, wanted to keep them all here under wings. But she understood that it would never be that way. That she couldn’t keep them all even if she wanted to. Imagine her surprise when there actually happened to be a Tundra baby, chirping messily as his guardian siblings ate their shells. They would all leave with their father, she decided. They were a mix of their genes, lace and underbelly, tiger and python. Sedona licked them all clean, and then helped them to their breakfasts. Soon, she’d be doing this all again, and she couldn’t wait.
