To celebrate, I will be hatching some eggs in an attempt to create a replica of Naomi. A female, Arcane Fae, with her colors being white primary, azure secondary, and sky tertiary. And of course, with a matching birthday. [color=transparent]____[/color]Hi, my name is ghost™. I joined Flight Rising in 2018 at the ripe old age of 16. I played consistently until about 2019, then played off and on until 2021. After that, I took a break until just a few days ago in 2023. [color=transparent]____[/color]In the beginning, I was invited to Flight Rising by my friend Leon, when there were still specific dates in which you could join (is this still a thing anymore?) I originally was apart of the Shadow Flight, then switched to Ice for awhile because I felt the eye color was more universal, and then changed back to Shadow permanently. [color=transparent]____[/color]Once I had learned the ropes, I quickly became interested in unbred G1 dragons, especially pretty ones with cool birthdays. [color=transparent]____[/color]This interest led me to discover Naomi, a glitchy dragon who surprisingly, still had unexalted descendants. [color=transparent]____[/color]A long time ago, whenever items on the auction house were sold or expired, the item was returned or the funds for the item were sent via private message through a courier dragon. Those courier dragons were Pearl, Edgar, or Spitfire (the little dragons you now see the flapping animations of whenever you buy or sell something in the auction house). [color=transparent]____[/color]However, the site broke somehow, and now the dragon sending all of the auction house items was none other than Naomi, a progenitor dragon of someone’s clan. What was even stranger was if you looked her profile up in the user search, it showed her as apart of the Shadow Flight, meaning she changed flights from Arcane at some point, and she had an impossible amount of dragons listed. This was because every exalted dragon was being listed as apart of her Clan. [color=transparent]____[/color]People theorize Naomi was someone’s account gone inactive at some point, due to the fact Naomi was bred and that Willow still exists in an active lair. Staff may have taken control of it, and likely did at some point, as Naomi’s dragon page used to be a 404 page. It can now be visited today. There’s a few ways to go about this, so let’s examine the odds. [color=transparent]____[/color]The least efficient way is to hatch Nocturne or Bogsneak eggs. There’s 177 colors in flight rising, so we have to multiply that for each category of primary, secondary, and tertiary. 1/177 x 1/177 x 1/177 is 1/5,545,233. That is not very high. You’re more likely to be struck by lightning than to get the specific color combination you want for an unbred hatchling. However, with Bogsneak and Nocturne Eggs, the Flight of the baby is random, so we have to multiply again by 1/11, to get 1/60,997,563. Then we have to multiply [i]again[/i] for gender, by 1/2. In total, the chances via these eggs are 1 in 121,995,126. Fear not though, because it's still about twice as unlikely with these odds to win a powerball jackpot. We don’t have to calculate breed because fae breed changes exist. [color=transparent]____[/color]So what’s the odds for arcane eggs? 1/5,545,233 x 1/2 is 1/11,090,466. Yikes. [color=transparent]____[/color]Thankfully, we have a better option: tricolor scatter scrolls. This means we can guarantee a female arcane G1, and simply keep rerolling colors, making our chances 1 in 5,545,233. While tricolor scatter scrolls are usually more expensive, the difference in odds are worth it. [color=transparent]____[/color]So here’s the plan; hatch some arcane eggs on Naomi’s 10th birthday to ensure the eggs have her birthday, especially a nice, round number like birthday number 10. We try for a female, and if not, we break out my vaulted funds for more eggs. [color=transparent]____[/color]I have 7 eggs as of now, and will likely be able to reach 10 at least by next week through coliseum grinding. I hope to have a few females to hold onto, simply in case that if I use a scatter scroll on one and get a really nice color combination, I can save that baby and scatter scroll another. If the baby has a good enough combination, I’d like to auction it off to raise funds for more scrolls. [color=transparent]____[/color]A question remains, however. Say I do manage to get a Naomi clone... What should I do with her? I will likely keep her, but I have to ask if I gene her at all, or breed her at all.
