After the fall of his former kingdom, the Shallowlight, former Prince Chaoskin was suddenly met with a dilemma and a newfound freedom. His entire life up until this point had been preparing him to one day to be king, but he was now without a kingdom. He could've moved on and pursued something else in life, however... that wouldn't work.
So, one night he decided that it was time. He gained the assistance of two dragons, his first subjects, and set out into the wilderness of the Southern Icefield to found his kingdom, the Neo-Shallowlight. But, founding a kingdom is a much bigger task than the young Coatl could've ever thought...
I am finally starting a new Pinkerlocke! Thank you to anyone reading this for stopping by, even for just a glance. This is something I've been working on for over a year, technically, even if there have been massive hiatuses in between a few chapters and well, I thought it'd be a shame to not share something I've been working on for so long. So, welcome to my 'locke! Firstly though, I'd like to say that this Pinkerlocke is heavily inspired by Petall and their own Pinkerlocke, Beneath the Boughs! Please, if you have the time go read it, Petall is an amazing writer and their story and characters are just so great!
A few quick notes, I am prioritizing story moreso than being exact to the rules, so bear with me if I'm not the strictest on myself when it comes to following the rules. This story also started as a kingdomlocke before I decided I didn't like the format as much as I thought I would. Kingdomlockes are very cool, just not for me. This story also has quite the backlog, as of writing this I have 18 or so chapters already written so I'll be posting one a day for a little while until I catch back up to the chapters I have not yet written yet. After that, posts will be sparse as my motivation varies day-to-day but I will try my best to not abandon this project. I have nothing close to a planned conclusion and the Pinkerlocke likely won't end until the story has reached something of a natural feeling conclusion.
As some of this is fairly old, I do not remember what pulls I had for what. I have most of them written down, but not all of them so some chapters will be missing the pull that went with it.
Oh, and not that I really expect it to be honest but, I do welcome alliances and collaborating on lore! I absolutely love doing that so if you'd like to establish a connection or something, please reach out, I'd love to work with you!
One more thing that is essential to my writing making sense, I write my dragons as if they are anthropomorphic! They do not always have their wings in this form but can summon them with their magic and can transform into their feral forms with their magic if desired. And a little unrelated but just to clarify, dragon eggs are formed completely through a dragon combining magic with another dragon whether intentionally or accidentally.
With that out of the way, I will be using the standard ruleset and I'll be playing on medium with regards to coli with a few additional personal rules:
- Every fest, I can purchase a new dragon of the corresponding element off the AH, during NOTN, I can hatch an egg.
- If I get an apparel and I currently have no pairs that would make sense in lore, I can purchase an adult RTB dragon off the AH and pair them with a dragon. I can then flip a coin and if I get heads, the dragon can stay, otherwise they will be exalted.
- Any dragon that dies doesn't necessarily have to be exalted, I can either keep them but keep them out of the Pinkerlocke (not likely to happen) or I can give them to someone else, but they cannot stay in the Pinkerlocke unless I have a very good reason.
- Once per 30 days, I'm giving myself and my partner, YakileBekrea, the ability to force a coin flip be a heads. If I abuse this too much, I may redact this rule.
- I can stockpile drops from Pinkerton for up to two weeks worth, after that, I can't use any drops Pinkerton gives me until I've caught up.
- If I receive a dragon from someone directly, to clarify not bought off the AH, I can put it directly into the Pinkerlocke without a pull.
- I'm treating art pulls the same as writing pulls for the time being while dedicating some time to working on an art piece, likely an anthro design, for one of the dragons in Pinkerlocke. My motivation to do art varies too much for me to be able to finish a piece and I'd rather not hold up the entire Pinkerlocke due to my inability to finish a piece I'm happy with. When I do finish any artwork, I will be posting it in the thread. If said art piece happens to be of a dragon that has died, if said dragon got a new owner, said new owner is more than welcome to put that artwork in the dragon's bio with credit to me as the artist.
For this Pinkerlocke, I will not be playing with ancients.With the release of Aethers, I have changed my mind about this and will be allowing ancients.- If a dragon goes down in a coliseum venue that's recommended level is above the level that the dragon is, I can instead randomize a different dragon in the Pinkerlocke to die in their place.
- Other rules might be added at any time. A Pinkerlocke is a fun challenge but I am looking to write a story more than anything so I may not adhere to the rules as much as I should at times.
