Zoisite, June, Solstice, Lucius, Skyfall, and Dewshine didn't make it Neptune died due to his death bond with Solstice! Everyone else was raised to lvl 7 Balor is the eldest so he was made the new leader and raised to lvl 8 [rule] It was hard to watch for all the dragons below the arena. While the Champion held a seemingly severe disadvantage against so many opponents, the ridgeback was managing to hold his own against the lower ranked combatants. Neptune supposed that was why Ky had become the champion to begin with. But he was still one dragon against six others- some of which rivaled the ridgeback's own size! Surely he should've felt [i]some[/i] resistance... But no. One by one Ky felled his opponents. Neptune fearfully watched as Solstice, the fae he'd grown to love, tried to hold out against the fierce enemy. The pair had even gone so far as to create a death bond between them... and as he continued to watch, the skydancer could feel the magic tugging at him. It knew just as well as he and Solstice, that their time was counting down rapidly. He watched her fall before feeling his own life sever. The others could do nothing as Neptune collapsed to the ground dead. After the massacre, the ranks inevitably changed. With Neptune gone, Balor's rank shifted upward, making him just slightly higher ranking than any of the other newbies they normally got. It didn't matter to him. He didn't have anyone left. His mate was gone and he hadn't exactly tried opening up to anyone here. He should. Most of those he'd seen around weren't there for the fun of it. But there was that nagging feeling in his mind reminding him that he'd only lose them in a place like this. No... it was better to continue on his own.

[rule] Python let himself get settled into his room, which... wasn't much. No trinkets or other sorts to entertain himself. Just the barest of necessities. The guardian tried not to feel disappointed in his living quarters. He just kept telling himself once he rose in the ranks he'd get better facilities—it was in the contract he signed when he joined the arena. The young guardian paused as he passed by a mirror, staring at his reflection in the dusty glass. His green scales made his lips curl to reveal sharp teeth. They weren't even the regal looking green; they were muddy and while his patterns certainly elevated the color to a more handsome look, it was nothing compared to his mother. Her gold crystalized scales even had veins of the color running across her body. He'd never met his grandparents on her side but he'd heard they both had been just like her: golden dragons. They were considered 'pure' by some. It was easy for him to be jealous of such dragons. Perhaps their relationship would've healed with time had his parents trained him to fight like them, as he'd constantly asked while growing up. But no. The great warriors both refused stating he'd been too young. Python snarled and turned away from the reflection. He'd show them. Once he made a name for himself here... they'd see how wrong they were.

The coatl hadn't been much of a threat but it was enough to get the guardian started on his path. Python held no regrets for acting so merciless towards the smaller dragon. He knew some dragons were here against their will or for punishment for things they'd done but there was little sympathy from him. It wasn't his fault they'd gotten dragged into the pits. Python let out a low rumbling hum of contentment as he let his scales soak in his bath. The warm water felt good on his muscles and he felt this was well reserved after his victory. It was far from making a name for himself... but one day he'd rub it in his parents' faces.

Finn is now lvl 9 [rule] Finn didn't know what he wanted out of life but being treated like dirt and forced to battle with the only reward being keeping his life wasn't it. The imperial didn't care to leave necessarily either—where else would he go? What else would he do with his life? He'd already lost what was important to him. Things needed to change. He wanted [i]some[/i] reward for his victories. Balor was the current dragon standing in his way to that change. The skydancer certainly wasn't going to do anything to better their living either. Finn knew he and any of the others were lucky if they even saw him. So he waited until Balor was returning to his quarters after a match. The skydancer was tired and wouldn't expect an attack. Finn's jaws snapped down on Balor's neck right as the smaller dragon sensed his presence. The skydancer went limp immediately and Finn dropped him to the floor. By that evening, he'd taken Balor's rank. No one questioned it, let alone him. It was how things went below the arena.

The fae was already much smaller than the hatchling but it still wasn't ready to take care of itself. So, she gave him the name Cloudrise and decided to do her best. She'd never raised her own hatchlings so this was going to be a new challenge for her. More misfortune fell upon them when they trespassed in the wrong realm. The Adams Realm's king was not forgiving when it came to unwelcomed guests and beggars. Thought to really be spies sent from his adopted sister's new realm, Tantris had both taken to the arena. Arber hopes she can protect the hatchling from the dangers within...
