He's lucky Fey didn't kill either of the hatchlings."[/i] Rexus slunk back to his quarters, feeling eyes of unseen dripcave deputies the whole way back. It appeared they weren't messing around. The two hatchlings scrambled over to him as he entered the room in excitement to see he'd returned. The guardian gave the pair a tired smile and laid down in his nest as they attempted to climb up his crystalline scales. His thoughts drifted to Mango before he shook them away. The tundra had been distant and hadn't had any desire to continue their relationship. Rexus mostly hoped Prism would get along well with her new half siblings. He watched the inhabitants come and go until only one remained: Ayla. Chronos had mentioned her being his missing sister. Seeing her now, the mirror knew the spiral had to be his daughter. Her brown and blue scales were so much like his and Levana's. The mirror dug his claws into the ground for a moment before bounding towards the den. His heat vision easily allowed him to see where she was even as his other set of eyes adjusted to the dimmer light. With a low growl, Rasul lunged at her cowering form. Limbs tangled and items were knocked down as the two fought. It ended quickly however. With his experience and the element of surprise, Ayla hadn't stood much of a chance. Rasul stared down at the daughter he'd assumed dead for so long. For a brief moment, he recalled how he and Chronos had found Levana's body... And then cast the memories aside. That dragon they'd found had been a broken mess of the one he'd known and the spiral beneath him was one he'd already gotten over losing once. Most of her time at the prison that day was spent mourning her loss while the other medics worked around her. The spiral couldn't fathom who could've done it, the act had been seemingly random. While guards were busy moving a prisoner to a different level one of emperor's heads began moving again in its sleep. The building tremored and guards rushed to get to their stations to prep for an emergency. Lailyn grabbed some supplies and followed the other medics out... Her death, buried under some rubble on the lower levels, was seen as an accident. Just a medic trying to check for any injuries and happening to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Chronos slipped back out of the prison again amongst the chaos, wanting to get far away from what he'd just done. "Hey!" A guardian snarled at him, charging as she spotted his unfamiliar appearance. Panicking, he ran faster while dodging debris. The spiral made it out and continued running with Olympia catching up fast despite her injuries. "Duck!" Rasul called out, leaping over his son to slash the larger dragon. Chronos watched the two fight, sure his father would lose for a moment as the guardian swatted him through the air like the mirror was nothing. But luck was on their side—or perhaps Rasul had known of the shattered serpents in the sinking sands nearby—and the pair watched as the guardian miss-stepped and was dragged beneath the red sands and consumed. A small tundra crawled out before stopping to catch her breath. Not too long after a heavier but equally small obelisk forced her way out off the second egg. Nettle shared a look with Animus over the last egg. It still hadn't shown signs of hatching and the medic was sure it wasn't going to. Taking the hint, Animus picked it up to go discard it. "They're... tiny." Hypno approached and looked down at the pair. "And they'll grow fast." His mother gave a faint laugh. "You had quite the growth spurt." "I'll take your word for it."
