[size=4]In a few months, I am getting married! I decided that to help me wait, I wanted to take on a breeding project to breed dragons that match the color scheme of my wedding. The main color combos I am looking for are [b]White/Lavender/Seafoam[/b] and [b]Mist/White/Seafoam[/b]. Ideally, I will end up with some breeding pairs so that I can hatch a bunch of dragons on the wedding day (or rent some nests since I may be a bit busy!). I have started by scouring the searches and the auction house for combos that can end with the right colors, and some pairs have been more successful than others. While I'm starting, my goal has been to have one new pair to breed a day. I have no real rhyme or reason, just a goal and a deadline! [center][size=6][u][b]10/28/2021 Update[/b][/u][/size][/center] I hatched a nest that I was quite excited for today that was between these two dragons: [center][b]Spruce (White/White/Spruce)[/b] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/55224625][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/552247/55224625_350.png[/img][/url] [b]Erys (White/Nightshade/Seafoam)[/b] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/72282297][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/722823/72282297_350.png[/img][/url][/center] Erys is actually pretty close to my goal, with her colors and gem genes. If I had waited a few days to breed her, I probably would have found her a better mate. Alas, I was impatient. The two had three Skydancer babies, two of which are no closer than their father. However, the last hatchling has some potential! [center][b]Anders (White/Wisteria/Pistachio)[/b] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/73315268][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/733153/73315268_350.png[/img][/url][/center] He's definitely the closest hatchling I've had yet. I have yet to decide if I want to use him to breed with moving forward, or to keep his mother in the mix. I think my greatest challenge will have to be making sure that I keep the bloodlines clear and not get my wires crossed. My pair to nest today was Mason & Daichi, who are a part of the second string of the project. They both have all gem genes and similar colors, so I have high hopes for this nest of 5!

My two parents were [b]Meuse (Mist/Cream/Thicket)[/b] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/72655759][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/726558/72655759_350.png[/img][/url] [b]Persephone (Mist/White/White)[/b] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/52881039][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/528811/52881039_350.png[/img][/url] It was another sub-optimal pairing on my part, mostly due to my own impatience! The closest girl had two correct colors, but her father is closer overall. I may keep him in the loop and keep her in the reserves just in case. I also may retire Persephone, since the white tertiary is a bit too far off the mark. [center][size=6][u][b]10/31/2021 Update[/b][/u][/size][/center] I didn't expect much out of yesterday or today's pairing - the genes were wonky and the colors had half the wheel to choose from. Here was today's pairing: [b]Nondor - Grape/Denim/Seafoam[/b] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/63514458][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/635145/63514458_350.png[/img][/url] [b]Ailyth - Fog/Antique/Pistachio[/b] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/71902920][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/719030/71902920_350.png[/img][/url] They had two eggs - and one of them turned out halfway decent at [b]Orchid/Gloom/Pistachio[/b] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/73385896][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/733859/73385896_350.png[/img][/url] I almost didn't notice that he ended up with opal as his tertiary gene - which was pretty lucky since the mother had the veined gene. Now the question is: should I replace the parents in the breeding pool with this guy? His mother's colors are closer, but having even one gem gene is huge. The father has all gem genes, one of them being seafoam opal, but a pretty terrible secondary color. I think I may need to narrow my sights down to colors for now - I can always use scrolls if I need to, but I can't magically change one color!

I'm happy that it is a plentiful breed - its breeding cooldown is only 15 days and I think that will be great in the long run. Hopefully I'm able to breed it back to other breeds when I get the colors and genes right!

[center][size=6][u][b]11/2/2021 Update[/b][/u][/size][/center] Today was a 5-egg nest! The parents were a [b]Fog/Pearl/Fog[/b] spiral and a [b]Purple/Orca/Aqua[/b] mirror, all with gem genes. I had low hopes for the secondary color, but one little gal ended with [b]Lavender/White/Cyan[/b], which is about as good as I could have hoped for! I was surprised to get 4 spirals out of the bunch - I was hoping for some mirrors and their quick breeding cooldown. But I'm certainly not complaining about her colors! [center][size=6][u][b]11/8/2021 Update[/b][/u][/size][/center] Exciting news, I hatched a Mist/White/Seafoam dragon today! He has [b]no[/b] gem genes, but now I have a baseline. Hopefully I can hatch some others that have close colors to try and get some of the genes right.
