Seer hears the cheers of a young female pearlcatcher shouting from another area of the arena. Her eye's took in the youthful exuberance and waited to see if she would be moved by the forces that guided her. Nothing...which could be a good thing, for some of what she has been shown was not pleasant. How fun! I'm happy to see the competitor I supported won the first round. I'll keep cheering for Rhyo and Mute until the end, their backstory is very cute. You are both doing an amazing Job with this!

He wasted no time maneuvering himself through the crowd, careful as to not upset the magician's hat he had 'borrowed' from a Nocturne of his clan, looking around with wide eyes. Yesterday he had only barely made it in time, arriving with two overflowing sacks--one dropping to the floor with a squish, the other with a series of dry crunches--so exhausted he'd been unable to do anything but return right back home if he wanted any chance at making curfew. He hadn't even been able to see Spanspek! So when he saw the familiar Fae being his mischievous self with the crowd, encouraging dragons all around to make the contest a little more [i]spicy[/i], he almost leapt into the air out of excitement. Not much later Crystalscale arrived on the premises with as much enthusiasm as she lacked subtlety and joined her big brother, and he [i]did[/i] do a little dance. When Rhyo was announced as the first winner, it seemed Flambaby's day couldn't possibly get any better; along with a large amount of the crowd, he cheered his lungs out, and with a whiff of fire breath set off a small sparkler their resident alchemist had made for him that briefly made a colourful display that read, 'Go Rhyo!' in the air above. His stomach churned with anticipation. Now if only a certain lovely Nocturne would show her wings again, Flambaby might just declare Geyser's Cooking Competition his all-year-round favourite event.

But today we will observe the culinary combatants of our seafood delegates; my personal favorite; And I am excited to see how our chefs have managed with such intense competition!"[/color] [color=orange]“I’d like to present for your consumption a coral reef,” Fenghuang explains proudly as she places her massive tray in front of Geyser. “You’ll find an array of sashimi that has been cut and reshaped as different corals and sea creatures. None of the animals you see recreated are made from the fish they are now representing.” She gestures with a claw at one of the apparently sand-covered pieces, “Some are coated with fried tempura for texture, too. And you’ll notice that the coral pieces contain sauces, all of which carry sweet notes to coincide with the time of year. I hope that you enjoy.”[/color] [color=darkred]Geyser's whiskers lift in surprise at seeing the massive platter brought to his table, but it is not just the size, but the presentation, that catches his interest. "My, goodness! Fenghuang, again, you have proven that one feasts with their eyes similarly to their senses of taste! I... I almost don't want to eat it!" he grins, giving Fenghuang a gentle wink. "Almost." He takes his time, tasting each element to the dish, sometimes combining sauces of some corals to other elements, offering hums and light gestures with his claws as he certainly deliberates a long while over the dish. "Fenghuang, as I said before, it was a feast for the eyes and mouth both, and I commend you on your presentation! This is much better than your dish yesterday! However, you did [b]so[/b] much, that the rest of the elements of your dish have gone cold. While seafood often can be eaten both ways, it would be best to focus on one specific highlight to your future dishes and use the rest of the elements to enhance the one, and not the all. Although if this was served at a buffet, I guarantee there would not be a single scrap left!"[/color] [color=brown]Nutmeg takes his turn and brings up his own dish, a humble platter that was perfectly plated to enhance the dish before him. On it sat three cut octopus suckers, each used as a dish for another element. "I admit I am a little worried having to display my dish after Fenghuang's showstopper!" he chuckled nervously, although with a shake of his mane, nodded and gestured a claw to his presentation. "I've prepared for you the 'Triage of Tenatcles!' Each octopus sucker has been cooked in a different way; the first is poached, the second is seared, and the last was steamed and then chilled. You have wasabi coated troat filets on the first, fried calamari and tempura on the second, and a sweet mango with crab upon the third, chilled and drizzled in a mango chutney," he expressed.[/color] [color=darkred]Geyser smiles warmly to Nutmeg even after his nervous exclamation, treating his dish with equal respect as all others. He starts from left to right, tasting each one in full before moving onto the next. Once he finishes he grins, "Well done, Chef Nutmeg. I appreciate the time and care you put into this dish, and your presentation is excellent! You took my advice well yesterday; this is a much improved dish! Thank you."[/color] [color=red]Rhyo walks her dish up, Mute fluttering a little behind and to her side in his effort to stay out of the way. She gives Geyser another small smile and begins gesturing. “I’d like to present to you a royal oyster and olympic oyster rockefeller, seasoned with black peppercorns, garlic, and of course butter. There is a cut of sea bass poke as well, since I wanted to share some uncooked fish as well.”[/color] [color=darkred]Geyser dips his head to Mute as he begins translating, although the judge's eyes remain on Rhyo to see her expressions as she explained her dish. He looks to it and, with steam still rising from it, he sighs in excitement, soon diving in to taste. Again the imperial is quiet, his eyes shifting as he deliberates internally for a time, before he nods with a bright smile. "A true seafood sample! Your rockefeller was astounding and your sea bass poke was on point! I haven't had anything that good since I visisted the Leviathan trench!" he insists, raising with all three of the dishes judged. "All of our contestants did a spectacular job today, and I'm proud of each of them for the effort they put into the Games! But there can only be one winner- And today, that Winner is... ((I really do enjoy this event so much and the RP is so much fun qwq! Sadly Hollow is overwhelmed with a bachelorsproject along with moving, so I sadly haven't been able to do much RP but I'll pop in when I can TuT - I'll hopefully be here [center][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/58394875][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/583949/58394875_350.png[/img][/url][/center] Luna was so happy to hear that Rhyo was doing so well in this competition! She had sadly not been able to get as many items to "spice up" the competitor's dishes... However, she was able to show her support by bringing sacks upon sacks of items for the recipes for Rhyo. But now.. This was the day she had feared: [i]The bug.[/i] The last time, she had sadly not been able to provide as many bugs as she had hoped. But it wasn't because she couldn't find them. Oh, she could. she was a true [b]master[/b] in finding bugs. The thing was...Bugs were her favorite food..She truly had a [b]bug-problem[/b]. But she knew that there were other dragons who were as well rooting for Rhyo, so even if she wasn't able to provide as many bugs this time... Maybe some of the others would? She sprinted around, turned every stone, log, and dragon bum she could, to get her claws on bugs. With willpower at the size of an ant, she began her journey back to the competition field! After a tense transfer, Geyser was looking at a phoenix whose feathers were made entirely of different flower petals. Fenghuang was breathing heavily heavily, a few of the spines along her neck canted at odd angles. “This, I’ve made for you, is a phoenix sculpture emerging from a chocolate fondue lava pool. The feathers are composed of almost 10,000 candied petals, and the coating includes chipotle and cinnamon to mimic some fire. Please, enjoy.”[/color] [color=darkred]If Geyser thought Fenghuang was going to listen to him about her big presentation on seafood, well, it certainly wasn't for this event! His amber eyes were huge as he witnessed this beautiful display of candied petals and he nodded in surprise. "Well, indeed, Fenghuang... You found a loophole to having everything be a proper temperature, by using the coating of sugar to preserve the petals inside! And this display...!" he mused with a grin. He leaned forward to carefully pluck specific feathers from the bird, and only after munching on each specific part, finally spoke. "Your presentation, again, was spotless, and I applaud your creativity! Although you were greatly sabotaged in your sugar work... Most of it is salt," he expressed, trying not to wince or make too big of a face. "I believe that in your concern for presentation, you once again forgot about taste! Don't let that sugary sweetness get to your head! I believe you can do better, Fenghuang!"[/color] [color=brown]Nutmeg brings up a large platter himself, although his was tall, and not as wide as his prior competition. Layers of mushrooms were delicately placed to create a tower of flavor and impression. "I have brought for you a different kind of sweet dish! In the way of a cake, I have mixed many of the mushrooms with different flavors, but all with a separate fruit and sauce to pull out their unique tastes and textures! I am determined to do the best I can while I have the honor of being here!"[/color] [color=darkred]A deep chuckle emanates from the imperial and he eagerly takes his claws to gesture at the tower before him. "It is marvelous in color and in presentation. At every stage so far you have put forth more and more effort into these games, and I, my tastebuds, and the audience, thanks you for it!" he grins, gesturing to the crowd before he dives into the dish. With his mouth slightly glowing from the cyan glowshrooms, he clears his throat. "That was certainly an adventure, to climb all the way to the top! I do think, however, you could have focused on one mushroom and made different things with the rest instead of having *everything* be fungi. Albeit it was delicious!"[/color] [color=red]Rhyo seemed no less confident in her plant dish, which was still steaming as she placed in front of the judge. “I present to you a personal favorite,” Mute spoke for Rhyo without hesitating, “Grilled bluelipped thresh, mycena mushroom, and blue entoloma, sweetened with crushed aer sprite and jadevine juice, with a potash peach chutney on the side. The chutney, as a warning, is quite spicy, but I find it cuts through the sweetness of the dish very well. There is also grilled flatbread covered in butter and pink peppercorn as a side.” The imperial gave Geyser a small nod and a wide smile. “I’m quite pleased with this, and I hope that you are, too.”[/color] [color=darkred]The steam from the dish rises in Geyser's gaze and he eagerly begins to taste the still steaming dish, not wanting to let it cool to lose its delicious taste. He takes his time to experiment with what was before him, and again he grins with pride and joy. "Truly, a favorite, indeed! I must ask you for your recipes, Rhyo, because I swear this sensation hasn't been seen on Sornieth until now!"
