A Survival Pinkerlocke Challenge
A Survival Pinkerlocke Challenge
Hello ! I've been getting a bit bored with regular coli grinding lately, so I decided to check out what exactly the Pinkerlocke Challenge that I've been hearing about is and, well, I'm intrigued ! Of course, I'll be adding and subtracting any rules to the original found here !
Now, what kind of story do I want to make out of this Pinkerlocke ? Well, a zombie apocalypse, of course ! The dragons chosen for this challenge will be put in a world overrun by zombies (enemies in the coli) where one wrong move can lead to infection and death. It will also serve to be a sort of survival game as well, where each drop gained in the coli will be added to the dragon's inventory, which I'll be keeping track of. This will include everything from food (the only way these dragons will be able to eat), materials, trinkets, apparel, battle items, familiars (who will serve as domesticated zombies in this universe), etc.

Rules & Adjustments
Most of the rules below are from the original Pinkerlocke rule set, with some additions and subtractions. If something is strikethroughed, it means I've revised the rule since starting the Pinkerlocke. Major changes will be discussed below.
Basics :
~ If a dragon dies in the coliseum, they are dead and must be exalted.
~ Activity for the day depends on what item is pulled from Pinkerton's Plundered Pile.
~All loot Food points obtained in the coli and via Pinkerton will be added to an inventory. Dragons will only be able to eat from this inventory. They will be able to craft new items with the ones they have via Swipps' Swap Stand and / or the Cauldron, but only if the Pinkerton item pulled for that day is a trinket item. The only material and trinket items that will be recorded in the inventory are those picked from Pinkerton or are rare drops in the coli.
~ If a dragon runs out of energy, they are dead and must be exalted.
~ If a dragon reaches level 25, they can "retire" and be exempt from being chosen for a coli team.
~Add on rule : If one dragon dies in the coliseum during a food match, no other dragon will die for the remaining matches. Substitute the dead dragon and finish the matches.

Drops of Fate :
Food
Select a coli team via random number generator, then select the venue which corresponds to the highest level dragon on that team. Stay in that level for the whole day. You may flee any battle at any time to regain health.
Materials
Trinkets
Inventory day for your dragons. Write them evaluating their stock of everything and / or creating new items. If they find that they are low on anything, they may choose to venture out into the coli for more, for however long they dare. You can choose exactly which dragons, venue, and how many matches they will go through. Training Day. Pick your three lowest leveled dragons and go through a low level venue until they have all leveled up at least once.
Familiars
Apparel
Battle Items
Plants : 10-20 matches
Insects : 20-30 matches
Seafood : 30-40 matches
Meat : 40-50 matches

Materials
Do some writing for your Pinkerlocke. How do your dragons change and develop ? What are your dragons like personality-wise ? How do they get along? How do they die ? Is there an antagonist in this Pinkerlocke, or are they merely struggling against the forces of nature ?

Apparel
Breed two of your dragons. Pick the two dragons by using a random number generator. If the chosen dragons cannot breed for whatever reason, pick two dragons from the AH via the "familiar" rules, making sure that they are RTB and can breed with each other. If using the second method, exalt the parents after the eggs hatch.
When the eggs hatch, flip a coin. Heads, keep the hatchling. Tails, exalt them. Attach the gained apparel piece to the oldest surviving hatchling. If no hatchlings survive or if they are unable to wear apparel, the apparel piece goes into the main inventory for any dragon to use.

Battle Items
Flip a coin. Heads, perform a death streak. Tails, your dragons escape before the hoard can get to them and are safe.
If heads : Pick three dragons via random number generator and put them through 10 consecutive matches in the venue which corresponds to the highest leveled dragon on that team. Do not stop until the 10 matches are over or one of your dragons die.

To Start
Obtain 3 adult dragons from the AH via the rules set under a familiar drop of fate. Name them all if they are unnamed.
Loss Condition
End the challenge when all dragons die.
Clarifications
Of course, these rules are subject to change because I don't even know if this style of playing will work. I might edit the food and energy rule out if it becomes too difficult and ends up killing all my dragons early on ^^;
The main reason for the changes I have made was to focus heavily on the survival aspect of this universe, something that appeals to me the most about zombie apocalypse media. And thus was born the inventory ! As for the changes in the "apparel" rules, I like the idea of my dragons happening upon an abandoned nest and trying to keep the eggs alive, hence the reason for getting random dragons off of the AH and exalting them right after.
Less relating to the lore of this universe is my main reason for changing the requirements of a "trinket" day, and that reason is that I'm not an artist and I think trying to draw my dragons in any way would not end well ^^;
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dragons who are to be exalted, especially under the "apparel" rule, will probably be up for grabs in this thread for a limited time, so watch out for that !
If anyone else would like to try this version of rules for Pinkerlocke, feel free to use ! I'd only appreciate a little bit of credit if you copy my rules :>
There will be a broad trigger warning for gore and violence typical of that found in zombie apocalypse media for most of this Pinkerlocke ! I don't think it'll be too intense, but precede with caution nonetheless if this kind of stuff triggers you !
