Ah, so it WAS the scarlet macaw. I have recently learned there is a similar-looking species of predominantly red macaw called the green-winged macaw, with green feathers where the scarlet has yellow, so I put both, because it was hard to tell from the blurred image.

This was so much fun!! I learned a lot, reading about all the piratey stuff the clues point to; it was fascinating!! I missed Day 6, had to go to hospital with a kidney stone; not the least bit fun. Imagine having that on a ship at sea in the 1700s!! :) Thank you, Selah and pacificautumn, for hosting creativity, and for all the contributors and participants. I loved MistJam this year!!
