"More prepared than we could be!" The dragons were left silent as the Imperial's red eyes flashed in their minds. "Uh, Kakir?" A faint voice came from outside the gathering tent. Obsidian paused to look up her elder, only to swiftly turn back to her talons as Zevon stared down at her with a lifeless glare. Jekusea placed her talon atop her novice's, her expression dire. "Yes, a bit. I'm teaching Obsidian how to keep her fur untangled." When the Imperial said nothing, she lifted her talon to show the Imperial the comb she held. "Ah, I see. Well, I do not mean to interrupt but...ah...." On cue, Carnelian crawled her way around her master's talon. His large yellow eyes were locked on Obsidian as he trotted towards the skydancers. "I was hoping...since you are doing so well to raise Obsidian that..ah..you and I could take our hatchlings out and teach them to hunt?" With a nervous laugh that was as fake as his smile, he elaborated, "I'm not so used to this, you see and...you are a bit more his size..so..." Red eyes glared down at the pair, and Obsidian forced herself not to cower behind her broodmother. Jekusea remained still, but a slight smile forced itself onto her face. "..S-sure. But Obsidian is...a bit too old for this. She needs to practice other things... like-" Jekusea hurriedly placed the comb in Obsidian's talon, then stood up with a flap of her wings. "-combing. You stay here and practice.....ok?" She gave her hatchling a smile, but her eyes were clouded with worry. Obsidian locked her gaze onto the blue eyes that loved her. In a tiny voice, she gasped, "Ok," her stomach tying itself into knots. The nightshade dragon stared at her a moment longer before trotting off next to Carnelian, and Obsidian watched as the troop flew off into the wasteland. They didn't return that night. Obsidian sat in her nest, combing her fur until her eyes couldn't stay open any longer. When she finally allowed her head to rest upon the edge of her nest, she dreamed of the praise she would get for her silky fur in the morning, and let her pounding heart rest. ----- Obsidian grew up today, so I levelled her to 5.
Maro didn't really get much of an introduction, but I wanted to focus on Rhian and the gang more, so I kinda maybe put him in as an afterthought. After a detrimental brawl with the leader of his old band, Maro was chased out with the promise of death if he ever crossed his former friends again. Armed with nothing but his skills and spite, he wandered the wasteland robbing unfortunate travellers until he found himself robbing a syndicate that was more sharp than he thought. He joined after begging for them not to kill him in exchange for his might when among numbers and unique eye for valuables.

"Tell me, why did we take this guy in, again?" Imoen glared at Kakir with poisonous green eyes, her lips curled to bear her teeth.

"Because if he's not on our side, he's on his own." The obsidian Nocturne almost snarled as he spoke. "Rhian is one of the last dragons in Sorienth we want against us. He has some connection to this place, and you can all remember how they ended up."

Phase 2: Drama

16 = Ambush!
The law has somehow located the group’s hideout! Flip a coin. If heads, most of them manage to escape; exalt one random dragon. If tails, two random dragons fall during the escape and must be exalted.
I flipped heads, so only one dragon was lost.....Jekusea.

"Jekusea, are you busy, perhaps?" Rhian's shadow completely threw the Skydancers into darkness, and Jekusea had to strain her neck for her eyes to meet his.

Obsidian grew up today, so I levelled her to 5.
