'Circe prepares some arrows before she leaves on her scavenging trip; she's not expecting trouble, but she doesn't want to be caught out if there is. She checks each one for damage, uses a small wound on her tail to coat the tip with blood, then puts it in her quiver. Before she leaves, she bandages her tail carefully. It's easy to be ready for anything when your blood contains a potent toxin... but it's also very, very easy to cause an accident with undressed wounds.'

'Talix perches behind Circe; the sisters are riding a stolen qiriq to escape a pair of rogues. One good ice bolt should be enough to take the fae out of the equation (he's plague, and his cruel streak means nothing if he's out cold), but the fire coatl is a concern, as all Talix can do to defend against her is match her bolts. She and Circe just have to distract the duo of Dreadrams long enough for their mother to get what she needs, then they can portal out. The coatl launches a bolt of fire, which Talix meets with an ice bolt. The disintegrated fire bolt showers the sisters with embers, and Talix winces as she uses her big wings to shield them both from the worst of it. Her mother's signal can't come soon enough...'

'Carmela pores over the pile of papers compiled by Taipan; a list of jobs for the Dreadrams to take on. Slim pickings right now; no room to be particularly picky this time round, it seems. An artifact fetching job, a bodyguarding job... honestly, both of those are things that even just some random adventurer looking to make a quick buck could do. Still, they're better than nothing, he supposes. Only really interesting job Taipan could find is an assassination; the target being who he assumes is some corrupt noble. Now, who to send... Adaryn and Endewyn are the obvious choice for the bodyguard job; the brothers are very intimidating, and make a perfect team. He thinks he'll send Taipan and Alnilam on the artifact hunt, Taipan's strong enough to handle most threats they may come across, and Alnilam's general tininess has come in very handy on similar jobs; plus he's hardly a pushover himself. As for the assassination? Carmela will take that one into his own hands. It'll require some stealth, and to be quite honest, he's the only one who he can trust to reliably be stealthy. Besides, he knows he's good at assassinations, it was pretty much his entire thing before the Dreadrams! He gets up, taking the papers with him. Time to go debrief; he knows that Sycora and Ailyth won't be happy to hear they've got nothing to do for the moment. He also knows that if they know what's good for them, they'll keep it to themselves.'
