It's just like dancing at those fancy balls you love so much." Zeki tried to comfort their nervous companion as they waited to perform. "Yes, but this is on ice! It's so much different!" Frost whined. "Plus, everyone will be watching us!" Zeki glanced down at the ice crystals forming at Frost's feet. "Aren't you always on ice? You kinda create it everywhere you go and all..." "That's different! It's... I mean I... You're... Oh, shut it! It's the principal of the thing." Frost huffed and turned away from him. After a moment she sighed, looking less annoyed and more nervous. "Either way, I don't think I can do this..." The announcer called their names over the speaker. Zeki gave Frost an affectionate nuzzle before starting to lead her to the ice. "No time to think now! We're on! Trust me, you're gonna be amazing." The two shared a smile before stepping onto the rink and beginning their routine.

Day 3- Speed Skating Hurley wasn't entirely sure why she'd immediately volunteered for speed skating when her clan had announced their plans to go to the Sornieth Winter Games. She did like going fast, true, but when the main festivities, namely the masquerade ball, had been announced, she hadn't even planned a costume. She was too excited to speed across the ice, hopefully get a good time, and collapse directly into a warm blanket and her girlfriend's arms. They were both dryads, and when they weren't competing they did a pretty good job of keeping each other warm. Now, though, Hurley had to focus. She'd speed skated before, when she wasn't a dryad, and had done decently. Now, though, her focus was racing, and she hadn't speed skated in years. Still, it was like learning to fly. You never forgot. She got into position, waited for the starting bell, and...well to say she flew across the ice would be a lie because she did actually skate, but it felt like she did. A huge smile on her face, she took off her skates and went to go find Sloane. She could look at her results later, but for now, she wanted to share some nice tea or coffee with the love of her life.

You're going to be amazing.
You can do this. It's just within your reach. Just breathe.
The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go.

Of course they hadn't....actually...had any curling championships to speak of. But maybe today he would bring home the gold and show everyone he was the best!

He had opted to sign up for speed skating this time and he was already feeling the excitement as he crouched at the starting line. The signal to start went off and all the racers immediately rushed forward in a flurry of blades striking ice. The coatl was making a good showing, keeping up with his competitors despite being new to the event. They rounded one corner, then another, and Mesmer pushed himself to gain a lead as the finish line loomed ever closer. He may or may not win the race, but with a breathless smile on his face he was determined to give it his all.

Day 3: Luge Despite the odd performance from Quasar the day before, the Clan was still determined to enjoy every minute of the Winter Games, from the Events themselves, to the food, familiars, apparel, and other goodies on offer. The masks were particularly popular among the Clan’s younger dragons, as a number of them were preparing for the Winter Ball scheduled to take place that night. For some of the dragons, however, there was nothing more alluring than the Events themselves… Emerald Mage (Ice) Emerald flexed her wings, checked that her tail was safely secure, and walked confidently over to the starting post. She would do it this year. She would bring home a medal for her Trophy Shelf. She just knew it. And what better year to finally win, then on the Fifth Anniversary of the Games? It was perfect. All she had to do was win, or at least place…She glanced back at the stands and saw Runemaster and Spellweaver watching her, their bodies looped around themselves in their excitement: her own personal cheering squad, present as always, as they had been every year since the first one. And this year, other members of the Clan watched from farther off, all of them smiling and waving. The pretty Coatl smiled, adjusting her sled one last time, as her confidence surged even higher. Yes, this was her year... …She hurtled down the track, taking every turn and loop as it came, laughing in sheer delight. She was really going to do it! Her time was good this year, she could tell. Her unruly tail was even behaving itself, smoothly guiding her through the corkscrew in the middle of the track, and then shifting to enable her to shave a bit of time off the clock as she moved through a turn. Even the sled seemed to be moving over the ice more smoothly than usual. For once, everything was going perfectly… …Emerald took a deep breath as she came out of the last switchback, steadying herself. After so many years, this track had become like an old friend to her, as familiar as her own paw. The trickiest part was behind her now, she knew. It was just a matter of navigating a few bumps meant to slow the sled down, and then making sure not to wipe out at that last deceptively simple turn that came immediately afterward…

DAY 3 Cross Country Skiing Tutroith accompanied his friend Bolesonth to the signups. He had not been reluctant before, exactly, just a roiling bundle of nerves, uncertain of his capabilities. Then his mother, shocking him completely, had showed up to cheer him on, and he took heart. If SHE thought he could do it (never mind the Weyrleader’s encouragement), why then, he surely could! And he did!! His effort won him the Silver Medal, and a boost of confidence such as he’d never known. So, this year he was going for Gold! He flexed his body, trying to stay limber in the cold, sucking on Pralinth’s copycat version of that shy dragon’s “Bonfire Bonbons” candies, each one a sweet ball of heat! They weren’t quite the same as the originals, but close enough to keep him stoked, and he was raring to go, shooting across the snow … And there’s the signal! He pushed himself out the starting gate, and began his sinuous charge “Think positive!” he thought to himself, as his legs fell into their rhythm, sliding him forward rapidly, as he strove to overtake his competition. No need to look, just keep going, keep going …. He knew he had the strength for the long haul, no uncertainty now! I was sorting out some entries for the daily word of the day and noticed you did not submit a google entry form for your day 1 entry. It's not to late to submit, but your entry won't count unless you do! If there are any issues with the form, just let me know.

@Sciencer
Same as above - your post.

Not sure if either of your participated after the first entry, but all those would need to be submitted too. Thanks!
