There wasn't always a letter waiting for him when he checked; his pen pals had lives of their own, after all, and couldn't always find the time to write back right away. Today there was, though, and Waammaan opened it quickly, wondering what thoughtful response his long-distance friend might have for him this time. He read the letter. Blinked. Read it again.
