For the first I searched through a bunch of my favourite songs and tried to find a couple that I thought worked together while thematically still being dark enough. The second song is 5:29, but the third's only 3:26, so I hope that makes up for it? Plus, at 5:10 it basically starts a repeat fade-out so it might as well be considered done at that point.

For the Halloween one I just took the theme of fear: violent; existential; and the struggle with mental illness and addiction respectively.

I'm only reading now the question above me about explicit songs; considering this is 1) Halloween-themed and 2) well, music, I didn't even think twice about it. There's a couple of instances of swearing in the first song of the first batch, but, well, in general that artist doesn't really do 'clean versions', anyway. He's quite fond of Precision F Strikes. And F Cluster Bombs. Or both in the same song, really. Apart from that I don't think the others are explicit in that way.

ETA: oh, also, fun idea! :D And I'm feeling the previous person on it not being enough, lol. The 5min limit alone nearly killed me, I've got so many great 6, 7, 8... or, y'know, 13min songs... :')

I do appreciate the note! Concerning the use of explitives- I am just trying to be considerate of both the Flight Rising rules, as well as the judges, whose tastes and personal stances on such words I am unfamiliar with.

As for the 5 minute mark- I am more or less just trying to keep the time investment in each list reasonable. Fifteen minute maximum per entry seemed like a good benchmark, and thus the 5 minute rule of thumb. Even if we weren't to get any more entries until we closed the game on the 28th, we have well over 50 already, meaning we are looking at over 14 hours of music! O.o It adds up really quickly!
