Beautiful!
Beautiful!
I love it! Although it could be more serpentine-like and have a more elegant head, I think this would be a great breed addition .

ahem. cough. cough. @UNDEL @XHAZTOL

Couldn't help myself. Don't know if anyone's done it already, but here's my shot at it. Settling on the breed's rarity was hell and so I left two options, but I'd go with Rare.

Have some encyclopedic made-up stuff.

By the way, I just realised Orange04 hasn't logged into FR since May and that's quite disheartening. I don't want this to be a dead project; it's too good to die!

Reefstalker Dragons

Obtained:
  • Treasure Marketplace/Gem Marketplace?

Rarity:
  • Common/Rare?

Breeding Cooldown:
  • 20 days/35 days?

Diet:
  • Meat, Seafood, Plants

Overview
Despite what their name may suggest, the prowling Reefstalker dragons hail from the Leviathan Trench. Thet are shaped to excel at life underwater and it is strange to see them wander far from their patron god's region, though the species has been known to have an affinity for The Tangled Wood.

Physical Attributes
The Reefstalkers are a medium-to-large-sized breed with a long neck and sinewy torso. An elongated dorsal fin runs from their head up to their tail tips where it smoothly joins with the caudal fin, making their long sinuous tails look like that of an eel; this tail acts as a rudder and can be up to three times as long as the Reefstalkers' torso.

A thin layer of protective slime covers the Reefstalkers' wings, which are fashioned to work as pectoral fins wen they are swimming. Long ridged spines that turn venomous when hunting of feeling threatened sprout from their heads, elbows and ankles. Reefstalkers' skulls are too narrow to swallow food swiftly, so they have a second set of jaws in their throat used to pull their meal more fully into their maws.

Male Reefstalkers are known to look more impressive than females. Their bodies are stockier in build, their spines are longer and their dorsal fins are higher, thus making them overall more eye-catching.

Social
Reefstalkers are a skulking breed, relishing in the darker patches of land, sky and sea. They are silent by nature and difficult to spot if they don't want to be spotted, though they are not at all reluctant to socialise. Reefstalkers may travel alone or in packs of up to 50.

Personal hygiene is important to this breed, and they will often visit coral reefs, if they live near the ocean, and have the cleaner fish living there consume external parasites attached to their hides. Reefstalkers, however, prefer this to be a social activity through which bonding with other dragons may occur; it is not unusual to see them gather with the sole purpose of preening each other while conversing quietly or not at all.

Lairs
Reefstalker dragons favour carving out their lairs in and out-of-the-way area, where prey may be ample and easy to surprise by the unexpected danger of a predator. The less daylight reaches it, the better; Reefstalkers have very good night vision and feel more comfortable burrowing in the shadows. They will share a lair with any species, though noisier breeds have a knack for setting them on edge.

Tactics
Reefstalkers count on the element of surprise, as well as their nimbleness. They dive in and out of their enemies' grasp, delivering lightning-fast and vicious, venomous blows. Although they are not afraid of fighting or being hurt, they retreat quickly if any damage is done to their wings; for they are precious for both swimming and flying, and all Reefstalkers are terrified of any irreparable harm to the appendages keeping them on dry land for the rest of their lives.

I dunno what's making me not like this dragon...it's a very cool concept, and I do like the head, wings, and tail, but there's just something...

Maybe it's just the pose? I know poses can be changed, so maybe that's all that is *shrug*

I'd still support it :) I like the idea of an eel-inspired dragon.

Absolutely support. This is the kind of dragon I wanted to emulate with my progenitor, but Fae don't come nearly close enough.
