I have this male here And I was wondering which of these two I should breed him with first. I like Diopside better, TBH. That pairing yields a lot more striking results. The other just puts everything in varying shades of pink.

I agree about Diopside. Tertiary color possibility is wide and unusual comparing to color range of primary and secondary outcome.

@TheLOAD I suppose it depends on what you wanna do. Are you planning to sell the hatchies? If so I think you might have better luck with Huang tbh. With Diopside you end up with a lot of brown and gray looking terts which don't tend to sell very well. Course you also end up with nice reds yellows and oranges too. But with Huang you get a very controlled range of colors that always look nice together, so it's a surefire bet.

I'd go with Diopside too! It's more fun when you don't know what colors the babies will have... Maybe you'll end up with an unusual combination that will start a new trend :D

@doodlemonchelle

Yeah I want to sell them. And part of the issue I have is that HuangxPhyll will make a nice tight range, but DiopsidexPhyll could have nicer genes/more interesting colors.

I would personally say the pink-range pair, basically for all the reasons stated above. If you want babies that sell, then you want to go for the safer bet. However, if you don't mind gambling and taking the chance, the first pair. I've had a few risky pairs pay off, but I've also had them give me lots of duds that even I didn't like!
