Dragon Share

Umber is probably my favorite Gecko color. I breedchanged a dragon to Everlux to make this girl [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/99133203][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/991333/99133203_350.png[/img][/url] and cobbled together a breeding pair to produce babies like this guy. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/101686540][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/1016866/101686540_350.png[/img][/url] There are other colors that I like with Gecko, but it definitely is a situational gene. And I'm always short on lair space (the above boy is probably going to get exalted when the next nest is ready to hatch), so I haven't put much effort into finding new scries.

I used a gecko scroll on impulse one night because I was getting tired of runes on this lady- but it looks better the more I look at her! I think it's a particularly fun gene in combo with Ribbon! XXY is my favorite use of gecko, especially over obsidian metallic/alloy. These two with their mate can produce every color of gecc on the colorwheel! But I adore them for their own sake. Gemma was originally going to be for a project but was just lying around, and Georgia was a castoff from someone else’s project when Gecko got ported to moderns, so it all worked out!! Love them, love the gene.

So far I've only got plans to give it to one, but I'd like to use it at least a few more times. I think gecko is like flaunt/flair and cinder/blaze in that if you don’t match the tert colors it can looks really bad, but if you do it looks amazing

Also it goes best with plain primary/secondary, or else you just get spots on top of other markings

Gecko is a difficult one to use and have it look nice because of the pattern colour contrasts some colours have, but it looks great when you can pull it off right. It's quite situational but I think it has some really cool accent colors and I'm happy to get tertiaries that are high coverage but aren't random splatters!
