Oof I have such mixed feelings about the trailer. I want to be hyped so bad but I've learned not to get excited about things until they're released and reviews are out. I think my main concern is that the visuals take more after SV, and aside from me just personally not liking how those games looked, it has me worried if this game will have the same performance issues. It was the main reason I skipped out on them, so hopefully ZA will be better optimized...
While the starter choices are kind of bizarre (why totodile AND chikorita?) I can live with it. I was really hoping for snivy, but I like chikorita too.
Mega Evolution coming back is something I fully expected, even if I'm not that happy about it. It does have me wondering if all Pokemon with megas are going to return or just the popular ones like charizard and lucario + are we going to get new ones? And will we finally get Kalosian variants as well, and how will that interact with mega evolution? Like will the starters get megas, regional variants, or even both? If a Pokemon with a regional form can mega, can ONLY that form mega? Really curious about how that's handled.
(Imagine if we got mega charizard Z. lol)
Anyway, since Az and floette are reunited it seems like this firmly takes place after XY, the only question is how long after? Like are we talking a few years or maybe even centuries? Since he's seemingly immortal, him being here isn't much of a marker.
I'll be honest, I'm not big on action RPGs but I could probably get used to it. I just hope this battle style will stay relegated to the side games and not replace turn based battles entirely. Relying on your pokemon to actually dodge properly seems like it could get really annoying, but we'll see how it's implemented I guess.
Confirmed Latin American localization is a 100% positive at least. It'd be nice to be able to play the game in Spanish and actually understand it lol

They look so cool! I always like when the protag is a little older, it's hard to put myself into the Pokemon world as a 10 year old now that I'm over twice that age vjghvmgv. I hope we get some nice customization options too.
A lot of people have been pretty cynical about the game seemingly being set solely in Lumiose, and no shade to those people but I am personally very intrigued by the idea. Most cities in Pokemon games have been on the smaller/simpler side because they're essentially just checkpoints in a bigger adventure, but if one city is going to be the entire setting it'll be bigger and more complex than any we've seen! And if you've ever traveled to a really big city, you know that there can be a lot to do and see and explore in just one city!
I'm hoping we get a Pokemon version of Paris's catacombs as a place to encounter ghost-types, I think that'd be really cool.
All around I'm very happy and very excited, and that my favorite starter Chikorita is getting time in the spotlight makes it all the better! I'm already brainstorming nickname themes I could use for my team, leaning towards pastries/baked goods because my favorite thing about France is definitely the food hvjhgvj

I am honestly quite excited for this game! I may like Z-A way more than Legends Arceus, which I wasn't big into. I feel like it has been awhile since I have been excited for a Pokemon game.
I thought the game looked really good and clean in the trailer.
I love the male protagonist which is who I will be picking as my trainer. And picking Totodile as my starter. :)

I'm a little disappointed that it's in the present/near future and that we got two Johto starters, but other than that...it looks pretty good! I'm excited!

it seems really interesting!!! very intrigued by it being set purely in the city and being in the future (? present ?) but it having the same look as scarlet/violet is. not what i was hopin for,,, starter choices also. very interesting.
the new battle mechanics look really fun though and all the character designs theyve shown off are very good..... so im still pretty excited! :D

i hope my prediction for a fifth tapu is correct. they and the xyz legends were the only ones absent in scar/vi and since the genies got a fourth member last gen, and zygarde already has associations with alola, i don't see it as too far-fetched!
