@FabulousFlournoy

Any gemstone should like to be so honored as to becoming a marble.

PEEP leaps for the doll mimic, so Roan circles 'round to flank it. Pack tactics!

The doll's head swivels between hatchling and banescale, hatchling and banescale. At last it stands up on its hindlegs and pulls two of the pins jabbed into its stuffing out at the same time. Dual wield! En garde! How do you defeat the doll mimic?

. . .

@Fledhyris

The doll mimic notes your preparatory stance and approval seems to gleam in one of its button eyes. It mimics mirrors copies you, also standing up on its hindlegs. Since you already have your weapon, it withdraws a single pin from the many stabbed in its stuffing, and brandishes it as unto a sword. En garde! How do you defeat the doll mimic?

. . .

@CalamGlitToes (Woah, Jeff lore!)

Thieving between companions, not Roan's concern. An outside threat posing harm to the group? Roan snarls and leaps in.

Not that Calamity can see that, with a lump of fabric on their head. With a mighty shake, you fling it off, and the doll mimic flips gracefully down to land on two feet. It pulls a pin out of the many thrust into its stuffing out and tosses it to you before yanking out a second for itself. This, it brandishes as if a sword. En garde! How do you defeat the doll mimic?

. . .

@SilverChilver

Your dreams will never find fruition-! the last pearl bracelet wails in SpaceCat's head as it's tossed away. But he has greater, more immediate concerns at the moment: The doll mimic challenging him to a duel.

It stands up on its hindlegs and pulls one pin of the many stuck into its stuffing. This is proffered to SpaceCat before it takes a second pin and brandishes it as unto a sword. En garde! How do you defeat the doll mimic?

. . .

@Zikitty (Ain't that just the way. It turned out great tho!)

Roan's head lowers, their distinctive spikes standing up sharply in threat. "With pleasure." They stalk forward, leaving you to your opponent.

The doll mimic stands up on its hindlegs and withdraws one pin of the many stuck into its stuffing. This is proffered to Minutes before it takes a second pin and brandishes it as unto a sword. En garde! How do you defeat the doll mimic?

. . .

@moonstrucksmorns

Venturing deeper is looking less and less attractive, especially now with the jewelry box stashed away on your person. But Roan's eager for a fight, and, well, why not give these new bracers a whirl?

Out of the assemblage of mimics, one steps forward to challenge you. A doll stitched into the shape of a mirror dragon, with many pins stuck into its stuffing. It walks on its hindlegs and stops a short distance from you to pull a pin out. It tosses it to you, then takes a second one for itself. It steps into a dueling stance and brandishes the pin as if it were a sword. En garde! How do you defeat the mimic?

. . .

(For all of you) Here are some hints/suggestions:

- The doll mimic would like this to be a clean, fair fight. You may have other priorities. Who needs a pin-sword when you've got teeth?

- Roan can assist in your fight or otherwise keep the other mimics at bay

- At the end of the passage are stone steps going up. They lead to . . .

A chamber lined with torches that flare to flame upon your entry. Compared to previous chambers, it's small and cozy. For larger breeds, cramped. But for banescales, sized exactly. The walls contain murals, the paint long gone to peeling. A wide hanging tapestry taking up a full wall has fared little better, moth-eaten and grey, but you pick out the figure of a banescale, wings outspread and head arced low, with hatchlings gathered underneath. One touches its snout to the adult's. Beside that, there are no furnishings. In their place are four large stone pits with raised rims.

Inside those, at long last, are the capricats. The whole colony, it seems, from the sheer number of bodies. The kittykids are snuggled in tightly, some curled around together and laying their heads on each other's flanks, others merely a indistinguishable pile of fur and limbs.

Beside you, Roan groans. "For Eleven's sake."

No vault for them. Rather, in the heart of the warrens are the old clan's nesting grounds, currently serving as the capricat colony's napping grounds. Somehow, you've got to get them all home. Maybe focus on one at a time?

A) A . . . conglomerate? Of black kittykids with yellow eyes

B) A silver and teal kittykid whistling its snores

C) A brown kittykid going blep

D) A purple tabby kittykid whose fur pattern slowly swirls

Pick an option and post your response!

* Valorous Cape *

@Chaosarceus (Aw, big fan of your description of the Waste)

Roan, their teeth deep in the scruff of a doll mimic and shaking it to pieces, can only grunt to Maneki's hollered warning. On it!

Between the kittykid's slash and your teeth, you tear the cloak mimic from your head and throw it down. As you step over it, however, a tattered tendril reaches out and wraps around your hindfoot. It seems it seeks a second round! How do you ensure the mimic's defeat?

(If you'd rather not write out another fight with the cloak, you absolutely don't have to, haha. Feel free to pick a different opponent!)

. . .

@Sushispider1212

If Roan cared about Lius taking the toad statue, they could only nod in approval.

Many a beast you've wrestled before, but this mimic is all cloth and no flesh. It tries wrapping around your limbs to restrain them. How do you defeat this foreign opponent?

. . .

@DismasYves

Roan makes a swipe at the cloak-cocooned hatchling, but Ori's bouncing is too erratic for them to ensure not hitting her as well, and they hesitate. In their distraction, they get blindsided by a chest mimic. It may be up to Ori to escape on her own!

The cloak mimic grips her head tightly and wrestles fiercely to wrap around her limbs as well. Anything to slow her down! How do you defeat the mimic?

. . .

(For all of you) Here are some hints/suggestions:

- The cloak mimic will try to wrap around you so tightly it can control your limbs and force you to attack Roan! Does it succeed in getting that far?

- Roan will be furious to see you trapped and do all in their power to get you out of there. But if you untangle yourself without their help, they can be fighting the other mimics

- At the end of the passage are stone steps going up. They lead to . . .

@TETRAHEDR0N

Section 6 options are tough to decide between however
CYOA - urban is going for option
D) A purple tabby kittykid whose fur pattern slowly swirls

and WYOA - Storm and Roan ...having once comfortably defeated a numerous amount of mimics both together and individually, including the column with its spear that seemed like it was going to take forever to tackle and come to grips with in defeating, Slowly but surely Storm had just carved away at it, catching it off guard as many times as she could, meanwhile and variety of different mimics had been giving Roan a good work-out or two, thankfully only one at a time. Size wise
Roan had the upper advantage on most of the creatures, the fire resistance was becoming a tad annoying however Roan had some tricks that had actually gotten the mimics to start fighting each other rather than him.

I must say that your writing has been very enjoyable. Those were great fight scenes! Also thanks for liking my description of the Fire lands! Definitely some of my proudest paragraphs.

CYOA: A) A . . . conglomerate? Of black kittykids with yellow eyes

WYOC: Just as Maneki Neko thinks he's in the clear, another cape springs into action! He wishes he could help Roan, but now there's a very upset bit of red cloth doing its best impression of a murderous scarf. Quite frighteningly well, if he may add. He claws desperately and is able to snag enough thread to release its grip.

Winded, he looks around for anything that may be of help. Aha! A torch! No doubt the fabric is fire-resistant, but that's not quite the same thing as fire-proof! He scrambles to the torch, only to be cut off by the offending cape. It's changed tactics and now wraps around his forelimbs, dragging him into the middle of the room with more mimics to help.

In a panic, he summons a massive ball of light to act as a flashbang to distract what mimics do have eyes and buy him precious time. Thanks to his long times spent among felines, he's flexible enough to pull at the cape wrapping his forelimbs with his hind ones, while also thrashing wings wildly to deter other mimics from getting too close.

"Get off you piece of garbage!"

All that flailing has kicked up some wind and disturbed a chest mimic to knock the torch over in reach. Deftly grasping it with a wing and then hindclaw, he sets the fabric alight. It's not a large blaze, but it's enough to make the thing release him in pain.

He's able to get away, ushering Roan to a tunnel on the other side of the room, before collapsing a huge cabinet of some kind behind them to stop the mimics. Once he's sure that the barricade will hold, he lets off a sigh of relief while panting.

"Did... not expect... so many..."

Fortunately, the two capricats they've captured so far remain secure and relatively unharmed. A few cuts and some minor fur scorching, but nothing too serious.

"Sorry little friends. That was probably even scarier for you. I promise, we'll get out of here and find you loving new homes soon enough."

He offers a series of mews and trills to hopefully get the message across in the feline tongue.

Heading further in, they come across a cozy chamber. Nesting grounds. Maneki is quite happy to be roughly Banescale sized, otherwise maneuvering would be quite awkward in the tight space.

"Well, jackpot. I'll have to make a note of our path to return here for more later. After all that excitement, I'll take a sleepy capricat any day."

He moves over to the silver and teal kittykid snoring away, hoping to scoop them up before they can wake up. Snoring means deep sleep, right?
