@BassetBites personally, i want this drop to motivate staff to drop even MORE outrageously 'out there' breeds. drop something utterly horrifying. something incomprehensible. something so cute it's disgusting. something that's just abstract. atom-sized bugs. colossal entities. break out of the mold hard enough it ceases to exist.
sometimes i like watching the world burn a lil while we get new awesome fr content >:) everluxes currently have my entire heart and i would LOVE to see the fr team continue to push the bounds of what they can come up with for us all to enjoy [emoji=everlux happy size=1]

Since we know dragons are not exclusively tied to their element, diety, or siblings when being designed, I'm opting to point out some ex-post-facto likenesses Everlux have to Lightweaver, like we've done with all the other breeds so far:
- Everlux have Lightweaver's skinny legs.
- They have her long antennae.
- They have her scalloped wing edges.
- And most important of all, they have Lightweaver's lantern jaw of justice! (heh. lantern. it's funny because it's the Light flight)

The Shade coalesced into a creature to communicate with other dragons and it's just stuck out there in an announcement with no warning or elaboration.
No, better: Trogdor the Burninator. There's our next ancient.
I like the new guys, personally. The only issue I'm really annoyed by is that the female dragon's head can get lost in the wing if colors are too similar.

I'm just curious to see if staff will make any changes to it now if this many people dislike it. is it too late to go back and edit/ change a breed after its already been released? if they do, then I wonder if that might open the door to people asking for changes to the rest of the breeds as well, which I'd imagine would quickly become overwhelming
The staff has said that they won't change the line art of an already released breeds.

At this stage of the game's life and with the number of breeds and genes we have, line art is set once a dragon is released.

I really hope this whole debacle doesn't dissuade staff from releasing more mold-breaking, weird ancients in the future. Many members in the community have been asking for more unique dragons for a while, and we finally get just that. Some of us are thrilled. Some of us aren't. It is what it is, but I LIKE the direction we're going in.
Every breed release has its detractors; this is normal and expected behavior, and why we remind folks to keep their feedback constructive. I've mentioned it before, but if you've ever worked retail, you can reasonably expect to please upwards of 90% of your customers 90% of the time, but never 100% of your customers 100% of the time. It's impossible, because no one group, no one community of people, is a monolith. Everyone will have their own views and experiences. This is always taken into consideration, as well as actual player activity and gameplay on our site itself.

So, housekeeping. Everlux released two days ago, and players have been able to have and share their initial reactions. We're going to go ahead and lock this thread for now.
This is not to say players who dislike Everlux can't share their feedback with us. Given the discourse the topic currently attracts on both sides, we do ask that you send that feedback directly to us through Contact Us.
I will also be locking the other threads touching on this particular area of Everlux feedback as some are already running up on the line of inflammatory discourse or callouts.
Thank you.
