When I picked Maia's colors I just kind of winged it because I didn't understand the uh...importance lol. Yildun's colors were okay. But I ended up getting frustrated with both of them and exalting them way back before you could get them back. Once that became a feature I decided to make a change and scattered them both and I love them now.

(Tbh Yildun's colors weren't bad but I just didn't like them with the genes and breeds available at the time...)
I think the only potential downside is that sometimes it can take a lot of scatterscrolls. But there's nothing that says you can't make it a longterm side project. :3

I scattered my random and I like her a lot more now
I scattered the heck out of my random progen, and he eventually came out GREAT for my aesthetic!

EDIT that I sold off a few food stacks to earn enough for a scatterscroll, and impulsively scattered my custom progen! she was avocado/coral/ivory, and now...

I scattered and then exalted my progens in the end because I simply couldn't find a way to make them work tbh. That and you can't really unbreed them, so, there's that too.

Yes! I scattered my random progen, you can see his color journey on his bio. His original colors weren't terrible, they're definitely workable now with all the genes and breeds on the site. But back in the day it just wasn't working for me. I love his colors currently and he looks good with my custom progen, they make cute kids together.
