HEADS UP!
on june 10th nintendo is cutting off twitter/x integration! no more posting from your album to x, or friend requests, or (the big one... to me) requiring an account to post in the plaza!!
facebook will still have everything minus the plaza posts (also getting yeeted in favour of just doing it via your switch) for now but is subject to change. we will soon be free from the constraint of needing a social media account to post our art and have it show up in the plaza >:D
this will also affect splatoon 2, but it seems like it'll be the same thing. that or its just loosing its posts entirely
i have been waiting moooonths for this. ever since the edited/updated text that removed the mention of social media accounts was datamined aggeeesss ago. ive had an octavio drawing sitting and waiting. soon. soon he will be free.might do a different drawing though since it has been months.... maybe something funny instead..

Might unironically make a Facebook account to upload stuff from my Switch album, even though Facebook's UI makes me want to vomit. I didn't know that this was datamined, though.
You can also download photos by scanning a QR code with your phone, and I genuinely do not understand how people have found that more convenient then uploading to Twitter/X

Twitter was raising api costs to $200k per month i believe (when it was originally 40k per year apparently??) so it was bound to happen unfort :(
you can also transfer images and videos through a usb-c cable connected to your switch and computer if you dont want the hassle of the qr code system tho!! gonna have to try it myself since there's so much i wanna clear out
