Exactly as the title says, how do Undertides swim with the Tentacle gene?

A worm with wings sounds like it would zoom pretty fast, sand or water but not with tentacles, they're pretty big and obstructive plus they're also backwards.
The mass of the tentacles would cause a lot of resistance when moving forward the way they are, same could be said for medusa although that one's actually able to go backwards better than tentacles. The tentacles couldn't move like a squids; not nearly as easily, and it'd have a better time pushing the Undertide backwards instead of forwards.

How could a worm with so many giant limbs-which would hinder movement-swim at all?

do they even need to move fast? theyre as long as a tennis court and if anything is threatening they could just grab it with those tentacles. nothing could strike fear into their hearts.

I assume it could help if they need to reverse, but with normal forward swimming maybe they don't use them at all.
They may hold them to their body while swimming and use them to attack/defend. They could use them to 'mimic' other shapes while hiding to lure prey in or appear bigger to scare other things away (what a large dragon would need to appear even bigger to scare is another matter lol)
Considering they lack arms, having tentacles can also just help them grab stuff.

Maybe they help the Undertides propel forward when they need to, like how real octopi use their tentacles.

For me, every day is World Kindness Day.
The same way these guys swim with tentacles.

i just got done playing this a second ago lol
but i think like DeathSpecter said and either they use the tentacles to propel backwards or the tentacles stay tucked into their body kind of. maybe they show them off to be scary?
i have no knowledge of sea critters by the way, soo XD

i guess to be fair the tentacles DO point towards the mouth on cephalopods too , much like here
(but also they have completely different body types that make it more reasonable for them to swim in this direction)
