This LOVELY boy was hatched by mwah with [b]beautiful[/b] goat eyes and awesome matching Primary and Secondary to give him a very eldritch/cthulhu-esque vibe

So I'm playing with scies and I'm having an personal conundrum. I hate hate the Eggplant Tert, its just too eggplant. BUT I have found the stained is veeeery nice and gives my dragon a whole new color scheme. But that is the problem, I almost feel like the color scheme is what gave him the eldritch/cthulhu-esque vibe and though the navy scheme is cool but now creates a new persona and I'm unsure it fits the eyes now?
Thoughts?

I like both, but I like the basic tert version slightly better.
I think if you're iffy at all, you shouldn't stain. I tend to only use gem genes when it definitely gives the dragon a big boost.

I totally agree, thats why I was on the fence. At first I was like WOW yes, that is pretty neat! But the longer I look at it the more I prefer the basic tert and if I can save the gems I like to.
If I change my mind I can always do it in the future!

I dunno, Stained seems to dull the color in the wings a little. Both scries look amazing on their own, but side-by-side, I prefer the first one. Basic can be valid, after all!

just here to agree with what others have said! i think he looks lovely with his original colours, and theres nothin wrong with a basic tert <3
he's incredibly pretty either way, but i definitely have a bias toward plain eldritch lol

I also think Stained takes away the uniqueness of the palette, so I'm against it as well.

I'd say if you do want a tertiary, Wavecrest is the best option. You know those depictions of Cthulhu rising from the ocean? It's kinda like that! :)

I think the smidge of purple adds to the eldritch vibes (idk, that could just be my own association), and of course Spines add that little "danger" factor.

Will go with the basic tert! Which is a very valid option ^^ I like the spooky contast of eldritch and the plague eyes, and stained changes that vibe quite a bit!
