Me, I like to look for pretty XYZ dragons, dragons with jaguar, dragons that remind me of 'cats,' or just a certain species like Spirals, Abbys, or Goalers. I'm curious about what other people usually look for.
(Also because I wanna maybe start up a hatchery again but don't know where to start a;sdkjlf)

Matchy XYZs are my jam. I love them soooo much. I also look for uniqueness. I like to buy hatchery dragons that I can't find anywhere else, makes them feel extra special [emoji=coatl star size=1]
Color combos I couldn't find anywhere else ! Everything else (breed, genes) will probably be changed anyway, tho I have to admit it's nice to find a dragon with the right gem genes in a hatchery.

Variety mostly.
Hatchery threads that all have the same themed pairs or similar (i.e whats currently popular gene/breed wise) often don't really catch my attention because they're all selling similar dragons, and it gets old pretty fast xD
I like seeing different themed pairs, lots of different breeds/colours/genes, theres more to browse and more to catch my eye :3
This is partly why I have a variety based hatchery and don't really follow whats popular in terms of dragons xDDD

You know what, I've been wanting a Stock the Pond type pair for awhile so maybe I'll get one and make a Fla/Flair/Flutter Aether pair <3

I am also in camp matchy XYZ. Brownie points if the dragons are themed after something I'm especially interested in, like succulents for example. I live for seeing real-world things creatively represented as dragons.

A good combo between good designs and variety. It could be the prettiest pair on site but I won't buy any of the hatchlings are almost identical replicas of the parents. I look for at least 3-5 different colors each gene could be

ahaha this is so me. I DO like creative XYZs, but I have so many doubles in my clan lol
I like vibrant multicolor designs, especially warm-cool mixes. (But I don't usually go for eyeburners/neons. I prefer a happy medium, if that makes sense.) This could be based on the actual colors or accent colors. I'm not picky about XYZ, XXY, XYX, etc. as long as the dragon's color expression is sufficiently varied.
I don't overly care about theming/lore because I'm going to write my own lore anyway.
