Cool tails, they've got a top tier hatchling sprite, unique faces and unique feet, I like the little pads on their wings, both males and females are quite nice to look at, and their overall design has a lot of weight to it. With some breeds I have a hard time imagining how they would look in 3D space, but not these guys.

Hot take, but I really like how bald they are! Personally, I think it makes them really unique-looking compared to our other dragons.
I felt neutral about the wings until I realized that they're one continuous membrane that travels to the tip of the tail. I grew up with the D&D dragon books, and my favorites were the Gold and Brass dragons, whose wings also Did That. Also the little undulating/curling movement that's suggested on the M pose is super satisfying, imo!

Hot take, but I really like how bald they are! Personally, I think it makes them really unique-looking compared to our other dragons.

They're just such a good classic dragon! I know ancients were meant to allow flexibility with the leg and wing arrangement (and even head) but it's still nice to have just a simple draconic design for the ancients. But still with interesting features! I love the tails and plates.

I absolutely love Dusthides! They weren't exactly what I was expecting from the teaser—I didn't expect them to have wings, mostly—but they've quickly become one of my favourite ancients!
In fact, despite not expecting them to have wings, I really love their wings; they have a very satisfying shape, and I think it's really cool that the top/back part of their wings matches their primary (best seen on F pose) with only the underside being the secondary. And I enjoy the big ol' beans & claws on their wings.
I love their short stocky legs and massive tail, the tertiaries are on pointI'm super in love with Antlers especially, I love their silly little faces, and I actually really like their baldness, both on its own, and also for the incredible and unique tert opportunities such as Spores, Antlers, and even stuff like Batty, Whiskers, Angler, etc.
Both of my dusties hatched female, so I've mostly been scrying with F pose (and I love it), but the M pose is also so wonderfully dynamic, I love them both very much (which is actually surprising for me, as I tend to pick favourites when it comes to poses, but I really like both poses for their own reasons).
All in all, I love these silly little guys, and I'm already pivoting a bunch of my prior G1 projects to be Dusthides instead <3
