We went to a greenhouse together in the fall and they surprised me by buying this plant for me when I couldn't stop looking at it in the lobby. I love its tiny delicate leaves and the distinctive zigzag shape of the branches and stems! This one is still pretty small, but I'm hoping to see it grow over the years! <3 Photo:[br][br]

Plant Species: "Canadian Red" Rhubarb

Interesting/special info about plant: This rhubarb plant has had quite the journey! It was originally gifted to my wife and I from my mother-in-law (herself an avid gardener), transplanted from her own yard, as a way to help us kickstart our own garden! Now it has survived not only our harsh winters but also a second transplant (from its original spot to the cleared-out bed now acting as our herb and vegetable garden), and thriving more than ever before. And gosh does it grow FAST—literally just last week, the shoots were maybe five inches high, and now look at it! At full size, it'll be easily 2.5 feet across, maybe more.
Later in summer, we'll start harvesting from it to make even more batches of delicious jam to share with friends and family. 'v'

I am entering the Garden Competition! FR username and ID #: SpiritSai#4046 Plant Species: platycerium willinckii Interesting/special info about plant: This has been a dream species to own for me, I felt so lucky to find a seller at an orchid show I was at. I love him because it's super dry where I live and i have to soak him multiple times a week to keep him hydrated. It's a lot of work but it has paid off since he has put out 4-ish reproductive fronds and all the shield fronds pictured while in my care. I've had him for about a year. He's not the flashiest (some of his older fronds were damaged in transit) but I wanted to enter him because he's my favorite :) Also the common name for platycerium is staghorn fern, which I think is pretty awesome. (blush var.) - butterwort Interesting/special info about plant: My most beloved plant is actually my cape sundew but it's covered with half-digested bugs and is finishing flowering so it's not looking especially appealing even it's it's doing well T_T (cw: bugs // the current state of affairs... I will upgrade it to a proper pot once it's completely done flowering // a glamour shot of its first flower that I missed because it opened and closed while I was away lol) SO! I am presenting my second-favourite, my Pinguicula sp. (blush var.) - Butterwort! Butterworts are carnivorous succulents that trap insects on their wide, sticky leaves. The largest butterworts (Pinguicula gigantea) can reach up to 30cm/12in in diameter, but mine is my tiniest plant at just under 4cm/1.5in in diameter! She's very well-fed, I promise!! I just cleaned her up temporarily for this photo because partially-digested bug bits aren’t photogenic, hahaha. I’ve had her since December 2023 and she’s turned super pink and more than doubled in size since then - here’s her little baby photo :]]]c Photo:[br]
