I have an old, pre-colorwheel expansion triple violet that I specifically set out to make look good with NO HECKIN TAN showing. I very nearly accomplished it, even.

I have issues with maize and sometimes cream. I haven't checked them with any newer genes, though, so they might be better now.

Ugh GINGER. Most brown colors have interesting accent colors, but ginger? No. You get ‘slightly lighter colored ginger’ or ‘strong yellowy ginger’ to go with your ginger. The only interesting one is breakup/mosaic and even then its kinda ugly as heck with the colors those genes bring out x-x

Oh its gotta be fog and chartreuse for me specifically. Primarily because I like pastel and bright colors, and they look deceptively vivid at first glance, specially taking into account the colors that are right near it! I do not enjoy their greying tones and odd accent colors.
Compared to the color mist and Peridot that are right near them, I’m just stuck looking at what could have been.
Straight up, when I’m looking for G1s, Fog is an immediate “nevermind” for me. I think I’m more tolerant of Chartreuse…

any colour that has a weird underbelly colour that won't go away no matter what. unless that colour is like pure white or a good shade of the colour... but so often it's just some random ugly colour :(

Maize - on its own, its fine, but whats the weird muted green-ish accent colour about? Its really jarring to me because it sits right in the middle of the pastel range of Pearl - Ice too >.> so its unavoidable if you want nice pastels. Gaoler horns show this best.

Grapefruit - its yellow but the accent colours on some of the genes (range from orange to red) are really hideous imo xD

It just has really jarring accents compared with the rest of the purple colours in the near range, and any pair that can happen to have Orchid, will always give me a baby with Orchid, always >:(

Swamp and murk for me! I've had beef with swamp ever since my second prongens was born with it as a tert. I could not make it work. And then, to make things worse, my first g1 hatched with swamp's evil cousin, murk, as his tert.

Ahhh I agree so much on the maize gaoler horns, it ruins the whole look. And the only genes that let you avoid this are phantom, crystal, poison and tide, most of which don't work too well with a pastel look either..

Ahhh I agree so much on the maize gaoler horns, it ruins the whole look. And the only genes that let you avoid this are phantom, crystal, poison and tide, most of which don't work too well with a pastel look either..
