Normally the changes are minor enough I learn to live with them, but this one seems really unnecessary and I think it should come down to another vote like we had with Flaunt/Flair on Obelisks.

I understand wanting consistency, but there never will be perfect consistency between all the breeds because they all have different morphology. Let there be some differences on how the genes appear on different breeds, especially when it comes to Ancients. What's the harm in that? It's not like Moderns can breed with Ancients anyways.

total support!!!

i personally don't have any scries with paisley for boas, but the new version is just... objectively worse. it's busier and muddies their silhouette significantly, and it just looks like they slapped the pattern on top without taking consideration for how the feathers layer to any degree

on top of it being such a sudden, significant change with no warning to the userbase that this was more than just correcting some shine errors? it's not good. there is a significant lack of communication between staff and players when it comes to gene errors and it keeps resulting in situations like this where people's dragons are being completely ruined. it isn't acceptable that this is a recurring problem and that it seems like nothing was learned from the obelisk flair situation

i think for sure the gene needs to be reverted. and in the future there needs to be far more communication from staff on what genes are bugged and how big of a change is expected; in fact, ideally, we wouldn't have THIS major of quality control issues in the future period

Reposting this reply I made from a different thread to further show the inconsistency of when coatl and boa crests and upper layer wing feathers are treated as extensions of the mane (like old boa paisley) vs given the same pattern as the rest of the wing (like new boa paisley) Edit: To clarify this is all to say that changing paisley for 'the sake of consistency' makes no sense. The old version was a stylistic choice with precedents in other breeds/genes for the way it worked, and there was no reason to change it now ------------- If you want to use coatls for the comparison more than SDs there's still some problems... Which one is the error? If you want to use coatls for the comparison more than SDs there's still some problems... Which one is the error?

dragon?age=1&body=2&bodygene=0&breed=12&element=6&eyetype=0&gender=1&tert=61&tertgene=0&winggene=110&wings=140&auth=eb285adbda0fc5e46f7efb78f9a0e8e43e270bea&dummyext=prev.png
dragon?age=1&body=2&bodygene=0&breed=15&element=6&eyetype=0&gender=0&tert=61&tertgene=0&winggene=110&wings=140&auth=3f05f192c8af75506afe7f47329a273971654e4f&dummyext=prev.png
Coatls head crest and extra fluff on myrid uses "mane" detail (like old boa paisley uses the mane detail from most other breeds)

dragon?age=1&body=2&bodygene=0&breed=24&element=6&eyetype=0&gender=0&tert=10&tertgene=0&winggene=240&wings=140&auth=d135f2be5d3865f55bfe72e296b770642365fb3a&dummyext=prev.png

Boas head crest and "extra fluff" on myrid has flat all over pattern (like new paisley)

dragon?age=1&body=2&bodygene=0&breed=12&element=6&eyetype=0&gender=1&tert=61&tertgene=0&winggene=21&wings=140&auth=40f4917c8af77d78b5b82648211f8d12a2feb677&dummyext=prev.png

Once again coatls crest and fluff uses "mane details"

dragon?age=1&body=2&bodygene=0&breed=24&element=6&eyetype=0&gender=0&tert=10&tertgene=0&winggene=258&wings=140&auth=d6a56ab2b1ee245dbd9bc575a3195023e6d2e68f&dummyext=prev.png
.... And so do boas, and striation was another gene that was corrected today

dragon?age=1&body=2&bodygene=0&breed=12&element=6&eyetype=0&gender=1&tert=61&tertgene=0&winggene=136&wings=140&auth=744b7d6c7b967f72328bba8e3825e66ee5424271&dummyext=prev.png
dragon?age=1&body=2&bodygene=0&breed=24&element=6&eyetype=0&gender=0&tert=10&tertgene=0&winggene=244&wings=140&auth=ddc4bab6dc64763324a8d63e280a016c94a4fc55&dummyext=prev.png

alright i had a realization. apparently paisley doesn't do anything at all to tundra m manes, compared to tundra f manes? which is making me wonder. hey. why are we fixing completely arbitrary gene "errors" instead of actual consistency errors among the breeds, i'm baffled imo like this is the actual paisley stuff that should be fixed, not deliberate design choices on aura paisley sghdjfkd. the mane and tail are completely devoid of any gradients or shine.

Full support.

I ended up buying quite a bit of tickets for this week’s Roundsey’s Raffle because I really liked how the gene looked on the valentine themed auraboa.

Now, it just looks odd. I really do think the staff should’ve done a poll of some sort before making such a change.

Support. I personally like the old version better, as it was less flat looking and really made the silhouette more clear. As it is now, things like the tail and bottom wings are really easy to blend together

I'm inclined to support as well, the contrast just feels better then the flat but full pattern.
