Starbeard, Captain of the Black Aquarius
Starbeard, born as Ancha, was always a family man. Unfortunately for him, he had been tragically disowned by his family for his long list of crimes committed on the high seas-- despite the fact that he initially picked up maritime work, and eventually piracy, to pay for his sickly mother's medical treatment. (As it turns out, the ends, in fact, very much do not justify the means, especially when said means include serial robbery, aggravated assault, and murder.)

Embittered by his estrangement, Ancha deigned to be feared rather than loved, and, claiming a ship for himself after years as a boatswain, rebranded himself as the grim, stoic, and ferocious Starbeard. Will Starbeard rule the Sea of a Thousand Currents with an iron grip, or will he fail disastrously? Will he forge powerful bonds with his crewmates, or will he wallow in his perceived solitude? What legacy will he leave behind? Only time will tell.

92445022_350.png
Ryder and Rogue, First Mate(s)/Quartermaster of the Black Aquarius
Ryder and Rogue are a typical daughter of the Shadowbinder, down to the core; they're sly, suave, and love games of trickery and deceit-- especially when the other party doesn't know they're playing. They're in the piracy profession due both to their propensity for breaking the law and their love of finery, and saw in Starbeard a broken, vulnerable man they could manipulate for their own gain.

Unbeknownst to Ryder and Rogue, they're not quite as subtle as they believe themselves to be; Starbeard is very much aware of their proclivities and of their attempts to use him. However, their tactical intelligence and ability to keep crewmembers in line is just too invaluable to lose, so he puts up with it...at least, for now.

Rotor, Master Gunner of the Black Aquarius
Rotor has a rich resume chalk full of experience with weapons engineering and field combat in the Shifting Expanse. He also has plenty of experience being underpaid and underappreciated for said work. His solution was to join a profession where his skills would be more appreciated...and where his cut was a little more substantial. His technical knowledge is unmatched, with the ego to show for it-- one could say he's not popular at parties.

The father of Twinkle's children-- he was unaware he had hatchlings until very recently.

Twinkle, Boatswain of the Black Aquarius
Twinkle is a bit of an odd duck; a kindly mother, doting and altogether seemingly far too soft to count herself among such grizzled, bloodthirsty rapscallions. Truthfully, she hadn't intended to end up here. She had been searching for Rotor, the biological father of her children, to serve him papers and demand child support. When she found him, she was quite shocked by his new occupation, and understandably so! But, over the course of a few days, between discussion about legal dues, she noticed the poor state of the ship and began to tidy of her own volition, even going so far as to direct crewmates. Rogue was impressed, and, with the captain's permission, offered her a job as Boatswain.

Twinkle, who was currently unemployed, reluctantly agreed; the money would be good, and she and Rotor hadn't come to an agreement just yet. She joined up, with the stipulation that she wouldn't have to fight or hurt anyone at any point-- that she would just manage the crewmates, guide cooking and cleaning, and would "run a tight ship", as it were. Regardless, her Imperial might and large mana reserves have Ryder and Rogue pushing her into doing more and more fieldwork...
92414222_350.png
Nevermore, Navigator of the Black Aquarius
Nevermore is a mystery. He doesn't talk about his past; no one knows why he's in the business of piracy, what drove him to it, or whether he sought it put. He's quiet, keeps to himself, with a somber demeanor that tends to drive people away-- but he's very talented with navigation and piloting water vehicles. He also likes poetry.

New Recruit: Cylyria

A boisterous dragon with a loud, brash laugh and a strong frame to match. She was approached at a tavern at the Churnscar Wharf by Starbeard and agreed to join up with their little outfit-- as did her sister, who just couldn't cut it.

Fieri was similarly outmaneuvered by the same dragon, and quickly fell to their sword as well. Starbeard was poised to take a cannonball to the throat, distracted by the heat of battle, but at the last minute, noticing the deadly threat hurtling towards him, he did the only thing he could think to do-- he roughly grabbed Rotor by the horns and pulled him in front to near the brunt of the blow. They made off with some bullion, but at what cost? A damaged ship and three dead crewmates. Twinkle, who had mostly joined to continue badgering Rotor about child support, was pretty horrified by the situation and shared with the crew her desire to leave. Ryder and Rogue promised her all of Rotor's earnings, and, after giving her about a third of it, promptly saw her off. [/left]

Minor update!! I'll edit this later (when im not at work lol) to look better, but I'm still participating in this fodderlocke very actively!! Posting formatted updates every day was killing me though LOL. I'm posting now because, after a three month reign, Starbeard has been overthrown at Level 17 via a violent coup. His adopted daughter, Twinkle, was also lost, as she would not betray her father. The new leader is the dragon with the next highest level, Andros, formerly the first mate, with the new first mate being Cocomints (my beloved). (Twinkle below for future formatting purposes, since she's about to be exalted and I don't feel like tracking her down again haha.)
