Found abandoned among its treacherous thorns, Nariene has devoted her life to unraveling the secrets of its shadows and helping provide for her clan. She tends an ever-growing garden with a mind of its own, one that ensnares all those that pass through it, using their bodies to nourish its soil. Only Nariene is allowed to pass through unharmed.

What spilled forth from its cursed throat were mere vocalizations of the most primal instinct: Hunger. Many of its kind had been slain before for the crime of sinful existence, their very nature profane to life. However, the being who would one day answer to the call of Nariene did not attack. It stared ahead, voided eye sockets pouring out tar, and listened to a song none could hear. Home, the melody crooned, this one or no one else. It listened.

Fraxis gifted the timid mirror dragon a potion that altered her species and genes into a whole new identity of her liking, and an enchanted watch that could take her anywhere and anywhen in time. With her gifts, Nariene set out on a journey through the eras of Sornieth, seeking one to settle down in. However, the thrill of adventure called to her and she never quite settled down. She did meet a clever bogsneak inventor named Eve in the steampunk era, and the two became very close. Eve splits her time between tinkering in her own timeline and exploring others with her girlfriend Nariene. The two are very happy. [/i] [u]Mini-Story:[/u] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/89587953][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/avatars/895880/89587953.png[/img][/url] Nariene enters the dark cabin, a slip of parchment between her claws, a name and location given to her from the busy Bischera. Her four eyes blink anxiously as her head swivels to take in the interior. Cluttered, open-air shelves are haphazardly stacked in magical artefacts, books and scrolls. Humming dances in the air from deeper in the cabin and the mirror dragon stalks deeper into the cabin, which seems to be built into a cave, as the walls turn from wooden logs to stone. Turning around a corner, Nariene notices a grey and violet Coatl sitting before a bubbling pot. He doesn't seem to be paying much attention as he dashes tidbits of magical ingredients into the brew. It explodes in his face with a huff of smoke, leaving him coughing. "Excuse me, are you Fraxis? Bischera said you can help me," Nariene asks, holding the parchment out. Fraxis nods and examines the paper. "Yes, yes, that's me. You want a whole makeover, huh?" The mage asks with a playful hint of humor. "No prob! I knew you were coming so I whipped up a brew! Plus, I have just the trinket for you." Fraxis pulls an odd-shaped vial from a chest full of miscellaneous glassware and dunks it in the rusty pot. Nariene watches uncertainly as olive green potion drips from Fraxis's claws. He wants me to drink THAT? Fraxis holds out the potion and Nariene stares at it dubiously as Fraxis slips between the messy shelves, muttering about a watch. The mirror bites her lip, closes her eyes, and steels herself as she chugs the goopy potion. A wave of dizziness sweeps over her and the bottle shatters on the ground. She feels her whole body tingling, stretching, morphing. She blinks her eyes - two of them - and glances down at delicate claws and across feathered wings. I'm... A Coatl! Fraxis reappears, a tarnished pocket watch in hand. He blinks, and smiles at Nariene. "Oh! It work- I mean look how splendid you look! A Coatl, how marvelous!" Fraxis exclaims. "Well, Sir-" "Actually, it's ma'am," Nariene replies sheepishly, "I'm, uh, transgender." "Oh, well, would you like a Silhouette scroll as well? I might have one hanging around here somewhere..." Fraxis offers, eyes scanning the shelves. "Oh! Oh, no thank you. I'm actually quite happy with my body," Nariene says with a smile. She takes the watch and examines it curiously. "What does this do?" "That, miss Nariene, is an Elsewhere Watch. It's an enchanted trinket that can take you anywhere AND anywhen in time! So you can find your perfect fresh start," Fraxis explains kindly, genuinely excited to be sharing his treasures with another. "You should give it a try!"
