I love creature designs and especially the speculative biology that comes with it. If you dig that too, I highly reccomend the show "Scavenger's Reign". Absolute masterpiece. Heres some creature designs i enjoy greatly; Khanivore - love, death and robots (never watched it, i just love this thing lol) Canids from Outer Worlds Rek'Sai from league of legends, which has a lot of cool monsterous designs I know there's tons more i love, but my memory is so bad when i want to come up with lists or anything lol

Back to this thread again because Hylics is back on my mind and I love everything about that game. It’s hard to pick a favorite so I’m going to just say all of them lol Here’s some examples There’s many many more, currently there’s two games and a third one in the works! Really fun and weird, so I really recommend checking them out if you haven’t already!

Jean Jacket from Nope is such a fun design.
v This is all going to be spoilers if you haven't watched the movie!! v
The idea of a spaceship not being a spaceship at all but being an animal? It's so good. Jean Jacket is terrifying in general, but the fact its just an animal is neither comforting nor scary, its just... Alive. Its capable of violence the way that almost any animal could kill a person if it felt it needed to, it's scarier to know its not being controlled by some omnipresent force (aliens), but that the horror is just a thing that exists, if that makes sense. Its an animal, it does what animals do. Defend itself, eat, hide... All to survive!
I could generally just go on an essay about Nope in general honestly, Jean Jacket as a creature works both as a metaphor and as an animal. Like how it's in-universe existence could explain common mythology/folklore, the obvious one being spaceships, when in actuality its possibly a creature from Earth. It reminds me of people claiming manatees were mermaids, or whales were sea monsters. There's all that, then there's the meta of its design being similar to a camera, or how it eats anything it can and spits back up anything it can't digest. (poor thing got a tummy ache from the fake horse, lol.) Awesome movie, and an even more awesome creature.

surprised I haven't seen anyone mention the forest spirit from Princess Mononoke yet. The uncanny valley-faced deer and the giant, watery bipedal creature are both fantastic in and of themselves, but the transformation from one to the other is absolutely unparalleled design. honorable mentions:

the Satori/Lord of the Mountain from botw/totk (which itself is inspired by princess mononoke)
the entire Rowlet->Dartrix->Decidueye Pokemon evolution line. just really excellent stuff.
the Xenomorph from Alien. an absolute classic.
Mystery Flesh Pit National Park by Trevor Roberts. this is kind of a weird one, since it's more environmental worldbuilding than creature design, but given that the park is the anatomy of a gigantic orgamism, I figure that it counts.
Chimera Falin from Dungeon Meshi. Every creature from that manga is so well designed and conceptualized tbh. If you haven't read Dungeon Meshi, you're missing out on one of the best manga of the past decade.
The Thing from John Carpenter's The Thing. Hear me out: sometimes the absence of a concrete creature design can be just as effective as any highly refined design.
With Pokemon, I enjoy two types of Pokemon designs:
1- Cute, fluffy animals (For example, the entire Eevee family)
2- Smol roundish blobs (Like Clodsire, Snom, and Pyukumuku)

I will never not think about how insanely cool and well designed the bayonetta series enemies and creature summons are. The angels are soooo cool and have an insane amount of detail. My personal favorite being Glamor: and grace and glory are also a favorite (for some reason a picture wouldn't load of them but that's alright) Same goes for a lot of the demonic ones too, I love how they said this one is a dog that somehow managed its way into inferno and became this thing: There's also a literal horse with a sword head, A SWORD!!! I think all of the games designs are so funky, cool and detailed and even some of the angels are biblically accurate in design!
