was planning already on making something mushroom and mycelium themed, but the new apparel made me 100% certain that i need to. love the sets btw!!
came up with a little lore-y blurb to explain my thoughts of how this fun guy (heh) works!

Mutated versions of disease bearing mushrooms, utilised by those within the Plague flight, these mushroom's spores can be altered to infect dragons with a different chosen type of disease.
In order to control the spore production and the disease output, it must be grown upon the dragon's hides, which in turn, builds resistance for said diseases in the host.
The dragon selects an anchor point, keeping it damp for a few weeks, where then the mushroom sprouts, and threads its roots through the gaps in their scales, fur or feathers and begins production of spores.

If tended to correctly, being kept in low light and damp conditions, the mushroom will thrive and grow large, its mycelium covering a vast portion of the hosts body. In flighted species, it has been documented that flight can become difficult due to the extra weight, so mainly land-bound species of dragons tend to them as such.

I'm calling it Sickly Sweet
