Ooh congrats on becoming a respiratory specialist!

I'm not too sure whether this counts since I'm currently only doing a course right now and the job itself involves little to no patient contact, but I'm learning how to be a clinical coder!

@Amieg I think that counts! Medical field dosn't always mean patient contact gotta show love to my lab peeps!

@Aquarithyst My teachers said the same thing on the EMS side it was a little fun because we had no traffic to contend with so we really got to push our rigs and see how fast we could get em going. But the pandemic was a hard time on all RT's but it also brought a lot of light to the field and a lot of nurses and doctors had a newfound respect for RTs

Lab peeps are super cool! Clinical coding is more an administrative thing, though. Basically just going through medical records and seeing what's happened during someone's stay in hospital, then "coding" it so that insurance providers can pay the hospital.
It requires a large amount of general medical knowledge (basic bodily system stuff, diseases and treatments) which I don't entirely understand the need for but I'm a nerd who loves medical knowledge so I'm not complaining :P

@Amieg I didn't mean to sound as if I was categorizing you with lab just shouting them out haha. But no, yours counts too because without you by the sounds of what you're describing I wouldn't have a job because if the insurance doesn't pay the hospitals, then I don't get paid so thank you!!!

Oh nice, congrats on the certification!

I am in the medical field; I'm a research technologist! Also no patient contact but I help test all the new medical devices, vaccines, and treatments :)

Before that I was a vet tech, so animal medical field!

It's really cool seeing all the medical professionals playing fr, you guys have really awesome jobs!! I'm currently trying to get my personal statement sorted, and I'm revising for the entrance exam I have to take to be considered for medschool :)

I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about the whole thing since I decided on medical school quite late, but we'll see what happens I guess!

Ahaha! That pic is great. I've triaged patients who are like "hey can I take this with beer?" Congrats on your RT! That's so wonderful! In my first nursing job, I worked with some amazing RTs and learned a lot from them.

I'm a hospice RN!
