Ever since Agrise had disappeared, the Imperial had felt the need to keep track of all their doings for posterity. A sense of continuity was important, she felt, and since Iriehana was too distractable and the other members of the troupe had been too young at first, Sylvie had taken up the mantle. No one really appreciated it, but that didn't matter so much to her. For now, she was content to carry her book everywhere they wandered, noting new additions to the troupe; where they stopped for performances; any unusual happenings in the weather; and a smattering of recipes, unusual sayings, and sketches of the various individuals who had provided them. She didn't know when it would come in handy, but she had a strong suspicion that it would someday.
