I knew they would be a gem breed, and that's fine with me, I can wait.
I remember being a tad disappointed because of this reason with Veilspun. Soon after, a very sweet soul gifted me one that I still cherish and now I have a small army. I understand those that are sad they can't dive into a new project on release day and participate in the excitement. I am, too! But I'm not mad, my time will come. ^^

Agree on all points.
Just because it's easy for one person to earn gems on the site, regardless of whether or not they shell out some irl cash, doesn't mean its easy for everyone else. Really does grind my gears too seeing people say that to those of us who are disappointed about this.
Yeah, I doubt the intent of the staff is to screw people over financially and I totally get they need to make money, but the timing of the two gem ancients has been really bad like I said. Definitely hope they wait till things improve in terms of the global economy before releasing another gem breed.
Exactly. They set the precedent with the Gaolers and the Banescales and then the Aberrations, Undertides and Aethers that players would get scrolls/eggs with each ancient. Plus, with all the disappointment regarding the lack of eggs/scrolls when the Veilspun were released, a part of me figured that the staff wouldn't do the whole giving a free familiar instead of scrolls/eggs thing again. Don't get me wrong, I like the familiars we got with both the Veilspun and Sandsurge, but I agree that they should keep things consistent since again, they set the precedent of giving eggs/scrolls with ancient releases whether they intended to or not.
