I'll bet that some very pretty combos are rare because they're smack in the middle of a bunch of unappealing combos, or because they're too far removed from the "safe" colour combos that everyone used up their expensive genes on and started breeding (remember, it wasn't too long ago that we [i]didn't[/i] have the scryer, so it was a gamble to experiment with odd colours).
Having said that...I spent 6 months breeding dragons towards a female Beige/Chocolate/Aqua Mirror, because NO ONE was breeding dragons in that range on purpose. She's still only 1/4 with her colours.

my progen is the only crimson clown/ivory current on the site, but i'd say his colors are rather niche. i've actually been having difficulty finding some color combos that would otherwise seem like they'd be common, such as white/[blue tone]/obsidian.
