TOPIC | Rare color combos?

I don't have any rare color combos (because I don't have many dragons right now that aren't exalt fodder). However, I find the concept to be pretty cool, especially when a dragon looks really really amazing and is still rare! Like you discovered something cool! :D It's also neat to think that, of all the dragons we have on the site, there are still combinations of colors that are simply very uncommon. I wonder when or if that will change.

I don't agree with the practice of hijacking the price of an ugly dragon just because there are few of them on site. It doesn't matter if there are few of them; if no one bites, then it's "rare" for a reason: lack of desirability. Otherwise, I don't care.

I have done this recently with ALL my dragons in my lair and have put their statistics in their descriptions. I find that i have...... alot of rare color combos... AND color with genes combos too!

I'm currently trying to get a seafoam/blood/obsidian guardian. But all of the dragons are exalted or abandoned. I'm trying to breed for it, but females near those colors seem to be very, very, elusive.

I'm in need of a sunshine/red/crimson male with plague eyes. I just checked on this color combo again, and it gave me 17 results, but most of them are exalted, and among those that are left there is no dragon with plague eyes. :(
The worst part is that I am unable to breed this dragon myself while being in water flight. Sigh

Vertigo I bought because the actual colour range I wanted brough up no results, so after some random searching I bought the next best thing

Agama is also the result where the specific colour pattern I wanted did not exist yet so I bought the next best thing. He's pretty handsome though.

Together, in a for fun breeding, Agama and Vertigo made this uncommon patterned cutie I'm keeping:

And this is a recent purchase who's colours I looked up and are not hugely common. She's getting smoke in the future, I love her toned down look. 1 of 13, what a lucky number.
The "rare for a reason" theory lacks water - many are just rare because no-one knows them yet. Up your prices if you feel it adds value! I've been selling some of my rarer guys than I otherwise would sell them and with a bit of advertisement so people don't have to scroll through the AH - it works.
My breeding projects for a teal/storm/ivory (11 existing) or a aqua/storm/banana (12) are uncommon colours. Which makes breeding them difficult but they're my dreamies...
