The Beginning

All over the plague territory there are shrines and temples built to the Plague bringer. Rare material like wood and stone are scavenged and used to build these shrines as an offering for safe passage. It is a superstition that you must place an worthy offering on the surrounding steps when passing by or you will get lost in the forbidding boneyard forever. Most Dragons do not take the chance and offer what they can at every temple they see but some have nothing of worth to offer so they offer life, the only truly renewable resource. This leads dragons to have a nest right before traveling and offer up an egg at each temple they happen upon. These offering are called the "Children of Passing" as they allow the family / clan to pass and the hatchling will most likely pass away. When approaching these intimidating monuments one can see many materials and eggs in different stages of decay and wear but no mater how nice the item is or how desperate an egg may look nothing is removed from the steps.

This graveyard shrine is the end to many stories that never had a chance to be written but also where a few begin.

On one shrine with a circular base and steps leading up to an egg shaped rock that appeared to be cracked and bleeding layed the normal assortment of eggs and goods that were common for a small temple. On this day however a few of the children of passing started to hatch due to unusually cool temperatures in the plague lands so these 4 eggs did not end up cooked. One plague, Earth, fire and lightning dragon fell out of their prospective eggs. Wet and cold they stared out at the never ending plain of blood colored dust and bone while the wind whipped their skin. After the initial shock wore off they noticed each other one by one and huddled in a group for comfort and warmth. That night would for a bond that could never be broken and would help them survive for the harsh years to come.

Living Lost
The 4 grew into young adults on the steps of the temple. Most of this time was spent in complete isolation from the living world other then each other. They survived off of the food offerings that were left by passing dragons and at harsh times they would eat rotten dragon eggs. Loom, Cork, Whip and Hazen would sit by every egg left for days and wit / hope a new dragon would hatch out of it but they never did. Many dragons saw the young dragons on the steps as they layed out there offerings but turned a blind eye to them. The passing dragons and clans knew the dragons were an offering and saw them as a temptation from the plague bringer. To all passing dragons even though the 4 were alive they were already dead to the outside world and property of the plague bringer. With no parents they learned to communicate with their own language and aura reading. They kept their language separate and their own but also learned the common tong a bit just by hearing dragons speak as they passed by. The 4 dragons were feral and learned everything by trial and error but they still did learn, grow and become stronger over time. The few dragons that did survive for a time on the steps of temples were known as scrapers as they survived off the temples scraps. passing dragons knew this was not sustainable and that all hatchlings there would eventually die. Loom, Cork,Whip and Hazen had to accept this first hand as they had found a few groups of dragons their age in different stages of decay. This meant they were not the first , not chosen and would not be the last but most likely would share the same fate.
