I don't know if this will help, but I found this boy in the Auction House for 6g, fully gened...so there's no need to spend 300+ unless you really want to!.

My advice (such as it is) is to visit the AH every once in a while to see what's available in the Bargain Bin. Maybe one day you'll find just the right dragon to get you invested in them.
