Studied the blade
Enter Kantaira.

The band of three dragons came across an injured tundra, curled up on the beach and nursing an injury. Deep gashes had ripped through her leather wing, and she snarled when they drew near. After greetings and a bit of chatter, she introduced herself as Kantaira - and so long as they did not touch her, she would go with them in their search of a new home.
Kantaira had gotten separated from her own clan of fire-bellied tundra while they were on their migration from the Ashfall Waste, and they had moved on, leaving her behind. After being offered a drink of healing water from a satchel Striker carried, Kantaira slowly got to her feet, holding her damaged wing close to her hide, glaring and defensive. It would take time for her to trust these new dragons, but the alternative of dying on the beach did not suit her, and so she moved on with them.

Quest time
dice rolls 3, 1
Styx and Striker level to 6.
Striker is exalted.
Dying on the beach seemed to be the fate of another, however, and it was Striker who lashed out with Styx by his side when they came across a pride of beast clan enemies. The two giant dragons quarreled, teeth gnashing and claws ripping to destroy the villains, but Striker fell defending his women, including the injured tundra new to them.
Horror befell the little clan, and bloodied and raw, they had to leave the body of their friend behind. Burying him was out of the question, he was too large - and Agua would not allow them to expend energy that could better be used to find safety. For this beach had proven itself unsafe -- Kantaira nearly unconscious from her wounds, new and old, the mighty Styx grabbed her by the scruff and carried her, calling her Charge and swearing to keep her safe now. Agua flitted ahead, darting this way and that as their scout.
They would have to find somewhere safe as night approached.

Ngl leaving him on the beach was tragic but might've been for the best. We all know what happens when Imperials are buried too close together, and I'm sure Striker won't be the only Imperial in the clan
They're going to have to get creative with their graves >.<
Wait shoot did I bury more than one Imp in the same graveyard

. day 03 .
[item=False Podid]
Agua levels to 6. Styx to 7.
Kantaira levels to 5 and earns her job: Necromancer! Oh heck!
What do we say to the god of death? "Not today."
[item=Polished Walking Sticks]
Night was falling and the trio were exhausted. It had been a trial of a day with the loss of Striker the day before, and Agua behaving erratically since then. Not to mention Styx having basically adopted Kantaira and not letting the tundra get out of her (giant) reach.
Deciding this was it, the place of her first nest, Agua called that this would be their camp - their destination - this is where their kingdom would grow. It was a safe location, with the beach to one side, and the sheer cliffs of the Shifting Expanse behind them, creating a safe line of sight where they could see intruders coming a kilometre away.
Agua made her amber nest against the cliffs, and soon it held 4 eggs. She was never questioned, the two other women knew better- and really, who else could've been the father but the fallen Striker? She did everything she could to hide her heartbreak, and lashed out when Styx or Kantaira gave her looks of pity.

Studied the Blade
Enter Plumbell, who comes in at 5 and earns her job: Nest caretaker.

The new addition to the clan had seen the beginnings of what could be something amazing, and sought to join them. She'd become lost in a storm, and had strayed far from her home. In need of somewhere to settle for a while to get her bearings straight, Plumbell was welcomed into the small clan, another to watch over the royal nest and ensure their safety - though Plum had more interest in the local fauna, befriending a handful of creatures to serve as sentries and watch over the dragons as they slept.

I couldn't wait so I sent Agua and Striker/Shaker (that guy) off to a friend, and they sent me back the surviving babs; I'm so happy with them!! What adorable little lovelies! The goat-eyed bab is exempt from hatchling rolls.

Things had grown into a comfortable quiet, a sort of certainty that swaddled the clan as things began to fall into place for them. They had their roles, they had a nest they were protecting and a future in those hatchlings, they had trust in each other - and most importantly, they had hope.

Royal Illness: Poison!
It was in the morning that Agua began to feel ill, and the effects were swift to come on: dizziness and bile, she could keep nothing down, and she was weak -- so very weak she could hardly move. First above all else, she curled around her children, protecting them fiercely - if someone had come after her, how simple would it be to dispose of a few hatchlings? She could not let that happen, Agua swore viciously.
Her family would not be destroyed... And yet it was torn down. Dismantled, stripped bare. The poison that touched their mother also took Wolfsong, and Foxglove felt its effects, as well. But the unseelie magic of Kantaira brought the imperial hatchling back from the kiss of death.
Agua would forever be in the tundra's debt.
Who would want to eliminate Agua, with a nest of hatchlings under her care? There would never be an answer.

death streak.
Styx falls first.
Styx and her Charge, Kantaira, were out gathering supplies, with Plum taking the role of scout and flitting ahead, looking for an ambush.
What she couldn't see was the herd of centaurs waiting - who promptly caught the little veilspun in a sack, and very nearly squashed the life out of her with their kidnapping. Violence ensued as the trio of centaurs erupted from their cover, with Plum's sack lashed to one of their hides.
Styx fought with fervor and malice, an eruption of her own wrath to protect her Charge - she would die for her efforts, but at least Kantaira would live - that was the most important thing. Styx screamed as she fell, screamed from Kantaira to run, to flee, to leave her!
Plum was lost, Styx was fallen, and with a damaged wing which had not fully healed, the little tundra could not fly...
so she ran. She left them behind.
