Ok, I had to sit here and think about how I'm gonna try to describe this for a bit, because it's kinda complicated! (This probably isn't a hint so much as it is describing the thing they're from, so
oops. Sorry about the wall of spoiler text.)
The thing these characters are from is probably best described as a surrealist baseball simulator where you watch teams with randomly generated players play... well, a really, really weird version of baseball. Fans can change the rules by voting on them, and it winds up affecting the game in interesting ways! (Some of the stuff that can happen is... well, it's also technically a horror game. No jumpscares or anything though.)
The fandom also likes to create backstories for the players, so the fact that the first two scries (who are players!) are siblings is actually fan lore! The stuff about god-related mind control, getting lost in the woods and the one dying a few times... that's actually not fan lore, that's stuff that actually happened to them in the simulator.
The other five aren't randomly generated players! One is probably the closest thing you'll get to an NPC, while the Coatls... uh... their situation is complicated. (Two of them have played before, but they're not random players.)
