Attendance wasn't mandatory, but it did offer relatives a chance to see each other again on a yearly basis. The two spent most of the week socializing... though it was more like eavesdropping than actually conversing on their part. "Why, if it isn't the dark and dreary!" Vernal exclaimed, her entire body seeming to glow with excitement. Even still, her demeanor wasn't enough to soften the blow caused by her word choice. "Ah... Maybe this was a mista-" She was cut off as the pink-and-silver Obelisk raced over to the doorway and hurriedly nudged Samara into the yurt with her wings and tail. "No, no! Not at all! Come in, come in! I've been waiting for the chance to give you a makeover!" The Veilspun stumbled inside and hurriedly wrapped her long serpentine tail around her body as a way to self-soothe. "Now then, what can I do for you?" Samara avoided eye contact and kept her head bowed. "Well... My family... We're having a family reunion and-" "Say no more!" Vernal sang before retrieving a Pearlcatcher mannequin. "Now then, I'm thinking we could bring some color into your look! A pop of green here and a splash of blue there! Oh, or we can play off the reds in your pelt! Some oranges and pinks, maybe!" Samara sunk into herself, not sure what to address first: the fact that the mannequin was incorrect because she was not a Pearlcatcher or the fact that a bright, rainbow-hued outfit wasn't what she wanted. But she couldn't bring herself to speak up, so she instead sat back and observed. After all, Vernal was the queen of fashion. She probably knew what she was doing. The Obelisk worked diligently, barely even slowing to ask if there was a theme or dress code for the event. Finally, she presented her creation. "Ta-da! You may applaud now!" she beamed. [center][outfit=1874494][/center] Samara cocked her head and furrowed her brows. "Um... huh... Isn't it...?" "Wonderful?!" "Mm... A bit much...?" she finished, casting a sideways glance at Vernal. "Everyone's a critic!" the elder dragon huffed, though she said nothing more on the matter. She wasted no time reworking the design and, having learned from her mistake, Vernal stopped on occasion to ask for feedback from her client. After cutting back on the sheer magnitude of clothing articles and shifting the emphasis from orange and reds to yellows and greens, it was complete.
